Position Description
As a Senior Claims Analyst, you will be responsible for a book of property claims. You will utilize your experience to critically evaluate and approve our property claims exposures. Using your leadership skills and claims competencies, you will have the opportunity to interact with both internal and external partners, build key relationships and ensure that we are providing the highest level of customer service.
Job Responsibilities
* Managing claims arising from policies issued under our homeowner's book of business, with emphasis on oversight of Third-Party Administrators.
* Identifying and evaluating coverage issues, preparation, editing, review and approval of comprehensive coverage position letters and analysis.
* Approve claims or reserves within authority or make claim recommendations concerning reserve changes to manager in excess of authority.
* Evaluating information on coverage, liability, and damages to resolve claims on reasonable terms and at an appropriate value.
* Assist in retaining, directing and managing experts, coverage counsel and litigation counsel; participation in developing and managing strategy for complex litigation and proper claim cost containment.
* If applicable, represent the company at arbitrations, mediations and trials.
* Participation in claim audits, including direct interaction with clients, and performing critical assessments of our business partners overall claim operations, reserving practices and technical claim handling.
* Participation in communication of the claim audit findings to internal stakeholders, including written reports in a clear, comprehensive and analytically sound manner.
* Responding to the business needs of Actuaries and other internal/external partners
* Identifying, analyzing and reporting on claim trends.
Qualifications
* 5-10 years' experience in handling complex and/or high value claims with an emphasis on property coverages within an insurance carrier environment.
* Advanced estimating software experience required
* Multi-State Adjuster license required.
* Provides outstanding customer service to all interested parties involved in the adjustment of losses and claims related issues on assigned accounts.
* Prepare timely and accurate reports to management regarding significant claim developments.
* Strong comprehension of claims best practices across multiple jurisdictions and experience with case analysis and recommending and setting reserves that are both timely and appropriate.
* Conducting claim audits a significant plus.
