Position Overview
Provide maintenance support to the distribution center via safe and proper maintenance practices. Work with production supervisors and contract services to insure uptime on all equipment and maintain adequate preventive maintenance steps. Be a source to aid in resolving safety issues or production limiting equipment. Act as a liaison between production and contractors to minimize downtime and accomplish work in a safe and timely manner. Teammates will follow all Insight policies and procedures. Each person is accountable for meeting or exceeding individual and / or departmental metrics.
What youll do at Insight
* Keep warehouse operations functional mechanically
* Coordinate and follow up work done with area managers/supervisors
* Work is mechanical with some electrical capabilities required
* Must know how to use hand and power tools safely and correctly
* Report areas or issues of concern that may be a safety hazard
* Recognize needed repairs prior to failure
* Install and rearrange equipment
* Diagnose equipment failures and make necessary repairs
* Dismantles, repairs, and reassembles equipment not covered by service agreements with outside contractors
* Directs work of helpers and contractors
* Receives maintenance materials and accounts for receipt of materials
* Check work to make sure all connections and work is operational
* Documents all modifications made to equipment
* Maintains history file of all work done on equipment
* Seeks methods to reduce maintenance costs
* Cleans debris and lubricant from parts, work area, and equipment
* Practices good housekeeping and safety at all times
What youll need to join Insight
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Some experience working on conveyors and various material handling equipment.
* Ability to read and follow directions as prescribed by the manufacturer
* Ability to use typical mechanics tools and inspection gages
* Work from drawings, verbal instructions, or sketches
* Work safely with cleaners, lubricants, and other chemicals as needed
* Be service oriented and approach work and associates in a professional manner.
