The successful candidate will perform a range of duties required to manage/support the technical Supplier Quality oversight of suppliers, in collaboration with customers and other internal functions, including Engineering, Supply Chain Procurement, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing Trades. Primary focus will be the oversight of suppliers of Machinery and Electrical commodities. Responsibilities/activities supervised will include: technical leadership over the machinery and electrical supply base commodities; assessment of suppliers technical capabilities and quality management systems; supplier risk management activities; investigation of supplier-caused material non-conformances; resolution of customer-provided or supplier-provided notifications of quality-related issues; initiation, management, resolution and validation of supplier corrective/preventive action requests. Must be able to obtain DoD security clearance.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school of engineering and 6 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering, and design or equivalent. A Master's of Science degree in Engineering and professional registration with 4 years of relevant experience are preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
* Technical writing and customer relations skills
* Working experience in a design or manufacturing engineering role related to machinery and/or electrical products.
* Nuclear, Liaison, or Waterfront Engineering experience is a plus
* Working experience in a manufacturing environment
* Lean and Six Sigma training/certification
* Prior experience in a Supplier Quality Engineering role
* Project management/leadership experience
