Test Technicians perform a variety of tasks in support of designing new systems, hands on building and testing of these systems in Goleta CA.

Test Technicians work in a laboratory environment using testing techniques to evaluate circuit boards, electro mechanical modules, and RF Payloads and systems. Electrical Engineers or other experienced personnel will help train new employees in key processes and techniques.

The successful candidate will follow written work instructions, work well with team mates, and support personnel from multiple organizations.

Initially all work will be done on 1st shift during initial skills certification period and while security clearances are obtained. We may have 2nd shift work as well in the future. This is a full-time (minimum 40 hours per week) position. Over time is frequently required.

Due to the classified and export sensitive nature of the processes, materials and technical data, all candidates must be a U.S. person and be able to get a Secret Clearance within the first 12 month of employment.

Required Skills:
* Minimum 2+ years post high school work experience in Electronics Testing and Troubleshooting.
* Technicians need to be able to read and interpret electrical schematics.
* Demonstrate knowledge of using test equipment including: Network and Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscope, Signal Generators, Power Meters, Digital Multimeters. Familiarity with fiber optic cables and devices.
* Understanding of Foreign Object Debris/Damage (FOD) and FOD reduction/prevention methods.
* Experience handling electro static discharge (ESD) sensitive items. Testing of high voltage items and know safety protocols.
* Technicians must be able to sit for extended periods of time, use a microscope and hand-held tools like, tweezers, screw drivers, and torque wrenches.
* Able to lift up to 20 lbs. and manipulate items while sitting or standing.
* Sitting, standing, lifting, walking and pushing carts is required.
* Repetitive motions are involved to tighten screws and other tasks associated with assembly work.
* The ability to use a computer to access work instructions, make technical calculations as part of testing, time keeping, perform data entry and complete on-line training.
* Technicians are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Raytheon supplied PPE include: safety glasses, smock, and gloves.
* U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Desired Skills:
* Previous or current secret security clearance.
* Military experience in RF systems use and testing.
* Experience running Environmental Stress Screening equipment: Vibe table, Thermal Cycle Chambers and Altitude Chambers.
* Experience working in an engineering environment, reading and building to engineering prints for mechanical assembly and schematic diagrams for electronic assemblies.
* Previous training and or certifications in Electronics Testing, soldering, FOD and ESD protection.
* Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) assemblies.
* Knowledge and experience with aircraft or military quality requirements. Previous mechanical assembly experience.

Required Education:
A high school diploma or GED is required for this position.

Desired Education:
GED plus continuing education or post high school certifications related to Electrical Testing.
