The role is about working on the core of Azure, building and securing the foundation of the cloud and our customers. Lead the technical design and build the solutions for Azure identity and access management. These highly scalable, secure, and reliable services run Azure itself. Lead and collaborate with team members to deliver features and improve our engineering systems. Partner with other Azure teams to deliver cohesive solutions for a secure Azure platform. Create and manage security services with an Assume Breach mindset enabling detection and response of targeted attacks and persistent adversaries. Build the critical security foundations for the cloud to power the future of computing.

We are looking for a senior engineer to act as a technical lead to define, design, and implement these cloud-scale platform security services. This role requires technically proficient, hands-on, customer-focused engineering, and long-term architectural evolution. Your primary responsibilities are to pick the right technology, design, build, release and support the features that will help ensure Azure is the most secure cloud operating system in the world.

* Improving the fundamentals of the platform
* Creating feature specifications in co-ordination with your team
* Building prototypes and driving architectural design
* Attitude geared towards owning features and look to improving the quality bar for the team, product and company for customers.

Required Qualifications:

* 4+ years of software and services development experience
* Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: C, C, C++, Python, Go, Java
* BA/BS in Computer Science (or relevant work experience)

Preferred Qualifications:

* Passion for designing and building scalable, quality software.
* Great coding and problem-solving skills.
* No security expertise required--just a passion to protect the planet with a getting things done attitude.
* Customer focus and data driven approach
* End-to-end delivery and innovation
* Strength / interest in distributed systems
* Experience building and running internet scale services is a huge plus.
