Qualcomm provides complete chipset solution that includes CPU, Modem, Application Processor, Multi-media engines, Interconnect and more. Power is a key area that drives the value of our chips. As fabrication technology node shrinks, and performance requirement become higher, it is crucial to provide power optimized solutions, which are the responsibility of the group that you will be .
The responsibilities of this role include:
* Develop novel power optimized ASIC HW design
* Optimize and estimate HW core power using industry standard tools like Power Artist and PTPX or similar
* Work with HW teams to verify implementation of power features and targets at various design steps
* Work with post-Si analysis team to correlate pre-Si estimation with Si
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
* 5+ years Systems Engineering or related work experience with low power hardware and systems.
* 5+ years of experience with microprocessor architecture and bus interconnect
Preferred Qualifications:
* Masters degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
* 7+ years Systems Engineering or related work experience.
* 5+ years experience working in one or more multimedia technology areas (i.e., speech, audio, imaging, computer vision, display, sensing, biometrics, augmented/virtual reality).
* Solid foundation in Electrical Engineering
* Knowledge of overall VLSI ASIC design flow
* Experience with Camera and Video encoder/decoder HW and systems
* Working knowledge and experience with various industry standard power optimization and estimation tools like PowerArtist, PTPX, etc
