ROLE SUMMARY
The position has responsibility and accountability for growing the U.S. Pneumococcal Adult Vaccines business, currently comprised of the $1B Prevnar 13 adult business and the development plan and launch of PCV20. New adult-oriented products could be added as they come through the pipeline.
The position carries US P&L responsibility and will be accountable for shaping the adult vaccination environment, creating novel strategies to realize Prevnar 13 adult and Pneumo Next Generation revenue, ensuring broad access and executing to deliver business performance including the effective deployment of resources.
The incumbent will be expected to lead decision making for direct and cross functional teams, collaborate seamlessly with medical, global commercial development and an extensive network of cross functional partners, and build the critical relationships with external stakeholders to support the shaping of policy, recommendations and perspectives for adult vaccination.
The position will work in concert with the Glocal franchise teams to develop and drive strategies and tactics to ensure success of current and the future portfolio.
The incumbent will be a member of the US Vaccines Leadership Team and report to the Vaccines Regional President for North America.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop/evolve product strategies to maximize commercial success and profitability of Prevnar 13 adult, including accurate product forecasting, positioning, product life cycle strategy, competitor defense, scenario planning, managing marketing collaborations
* Responsible for strategic leadership for the brand(s) and all aspects of marketing strategy and implementation within the business
* Work across GLocal team and other brands to expand the market for adult vaccinations in the US
* Accountable for development and execution of US Launch plan for PCV20
* Active contributor/member on PCV20 GLocal team
* Responsible for driving financial results of the Adult business to maximize profitability, manage budgets
* Fosters and maintains a clear vision and high- performance culture that identifies and develops top talent and fosters an environment where innovation and creativity is encouraged and expected
* Build strong leaders, teams and capabilities to win in the adult marketplace
* Ensure strong collaboration with the US Sales, Account Management and Channel Solutions organizations to ensure seamless execution of the marketing strategies into customer facing activities
* Responsible for development and ongoing execution of a lifecycle plan
* Develop collaborative relationships with ex-US affiliates and with appropriate segments of PBG
* As appropriate, participate in and lead aspects of business development activities
* Lead critical external relationships to shape perspectives around adult vaccination and advocacy behind Prevnar adult
* Represent Pfizer at worldwide professional conferences, symposia, professional, public events
* Foster strong relationships with key customers
* Is recognized as internal and external ambassador for the adult vaccines business
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* BS/BA required
* 15+ years of related marketing experience in Pharmaceutical industry with a consistent track record of high performance
* Track record of exceptional leadership with an ability to set a vision, lead bold, pioneering initiatives, lead change and develop colleagues
* Demonstrated ability to conceive, develop and implement commercial strategies, convert these into tactical marketing plans and deliver results
* Sound decision making capabilities and the ability to take decision in the absence of consensus when necessary
* Strong executive presence and capability to confidently represent the business with Senior Pfizer management and external stakeholders.
* Ability to develop strong relationships with key opinion leaders, customers and potential or existing business partners
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
* Track record of achievement in delivering large, complex projects, ability to meet tight deadlines and influencing business outcomes
* Solid business acumen and knowledge of pharmaceutical market environment (e.g. Healthcare policy, financing, reimbursement and delivery)
* Excellent prioritization, effective and efficient resource management and organizational skills
* Excellent cross functional/matrix leadership experience
* Demonstrated success working in/with the customer facing organizations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* MBA is preferred
* Experience in US market place preferred
