Job Description:
This position is for an Electrical Systems Unit Member or Electrical Engineering Lead for the Airworthiness Engineering Group. As an FAA ODA Unit Member, approve aircraft modifications and repairs performed by L3Harris on behalf of the FAA. Review and issue technical approval for the electrical aspects of aircraft modifications and repairs performed by L3Harris for both civil and military aircraft. Act as Certification Task Leader for some projects, tracking programmatic issues involving airworthiness as well as project cost/schedule performance.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Engineering, with a minimum of twelve (12) years of aircraft electrical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Skills:
* Previous authority to approve major repairs/major alterations as an FAA-DER or ODA Unit Member.
* Familiarity with FAA Order 8110.101 Type Certification for Military Commercial Derivative Aircraft.
* Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-516 military airworthiness certification criteria.
* Experience with safety analysis, lightning, or EWIS approvals.
* Experience with 14 CFR Part 23 and/or Part 25 requirements is recommended.
* Previous experience as an FAA-DER or ODA Unit Member is recommended.
* Must be able to travel and work overtime as required.
* May be required to pass an FAA Class III flight physical.
Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
