Job Description

Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates to deliver our innovative products. The Data Center Strategic Planning team develops the data center supply and demand plans and scaling strategies for Facebooks rapidly growing business. We are seeking a technically minded strategic planner to support data center strategy research and analysis. In this role you'll be part of the team that plans data center growth and drives scaling strategies for one of the most fast-growing infrastructure in the world. Your primary responsibilities will be to work closely with our data center and capacity engineering teams to analyze cost, capacity, and schedule to drive actionable recommendations on new data center strategies and planning changes. You will also help define and develop KPIs, reporting processes, and data visualizations to deliver insights across several planning areas.

Data Center Strategic Planning Intern, MBA Responsibilities

* Work cross functionally to define problem statement, collect data, build analytical models and make recommendations

* Perform financial, statistical, and qualitative data analysis on data center supply strategies.

* Identify and develop best practices for analytics, generation of KPIs and visualizations to highlight trends and develop insights

* Create quantitative models reporting business trends across the data center space, automate data collection, develop and maintain analytical models, and generate reports and dashboards that measure the performance of Facebooks data centers

* Work with the data center teams and various stakeholders to identify requirements, analyze data, and develop a strategic recommendation for execution

* Leverage tools like Excel, Tableau, SQL, R, Python to drive efficient analytics reporting on extremely large and vast datasets

* Analyze data to identify trends that drive data-based decision making for the business

* Lead and support various ad hoc projects, as needed, in support of Facebooks data center strategy

Minimum Qualifications

* Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, an MBA degree

* Minimum of 2+ years of full-time experience in business analytics with emphasis on program management, strategic planning, data analytics, or supply and demand planning.

* Highly skilled in leveraging Excel to drive data-driven insights for the business

* Experience in influencing strategy and effective communication with leadership

* Experience using data access tools and building dashboards using datasets and source

* Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

Preferred Qualifications

* Background in Supply chain, Math or Statistics, related engineering disciplines or prior experience as a capacity planner.

* Proven track record of applying data driven models for the purposes of developing forecasts and strategic plans

* Hands-on experience analyzing and interpreting data, drawing conclusions, defining recommended actions, and reporting results across stakeholders

* Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
