Become a Senior Financial Analyst at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, youll be part of the Operational Finance group within the Finance organization at SCE. You will be responsible for supporting Operational Finances Strategic Projects area. In this role, you will be responsible for leading financial analysis to support strategic decisions being considered in SCEs corporate and operating unit level working with cross-organization initiative teams to assess and report on operational excellence, conduct cost benefit valuation, develop and conduct complex analysis to support various projects as needed, and develop communication materials and analysis for senior leadership.

* Lead the financial evaluation and analysis to support strategic decision-making that have major financial or operational impact to the operating unit or company. This responsibility includes working and coordinating with counterparts in operating units during review process and presenting to management.
* Gathers, documents, analyzes, and draws conclusions or presents recommendations on data and information; plans or assists in planning analyses, presentations, and implementation strategies for some complex analysis or for a portion of a complex analysis.
* Act as internal consultant to our stakeholders and operating units.
* Interact independently with stakeholders across the company to drive decisions and analysis to support the business case.
* Expected to apply strong technical knowledge to challenge business assumptions and to work towards the best solution.
* Utilizes existing or develop new models and methodologies and applies financial modeling and formulas to data.
* Influences decision making and may make final decision consistent with organizational authorization levels having a minor to moderate impact on department or company.
* Develops and makes presentations to department and division management, section supervision, and other interested parties and/or participate in presentations by other analysts, supervisors, and management.
* Effectively works independently & within a team environment.
* Identifies opportunities to enhance operational finance reports, analytical tools, and self-service capabilities in collaboration with IT to drive efficiency for operational finance and support operational decision making.
* Builds detailed analysis and reports utilizing Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & dashboards.
* Establishes recommendations and conclusions based on analysis of data with some direction.
* Maintain a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices; and performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Qualifications
The Essentials

* Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business, or related technical discipline.
* Five or more years of experience in the field of financial or strategic planning and analysis.
* Five or more years of experience developing, validating, and presenting financial statistics and models.
* Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

The Preferred

* Demonstrated experience utilizing and developing financial models.
* Demonstrated experience building reports and ability to track, analyze and maintain the accuracy and integrity of large amounts of data using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and databases.
* Demonstrated experience communicating financial information to various audiences including senior management.
* Demonstrated ability to derive insights from data.
* Demonstrated experience with integrating financial performance, budgeting analysis, and driver-based budgeting and cost savings valuation.
* Demonstrated experience generating reports utilizing SAP or similar financial systems.
* Demonstrate ability to work in a high performing, ambiguous and agile environment.
* Demonstrate ability to be highly organized, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Lean six sigma and/or process improvement experience or training.
