Info Security Engineer I

Info Security Engineers role is to participate in the architect, planning, design of effective Info Security processes and systems in support of Info Security functions (IAM, SSO, PAM, PKI, CASB, DAM, DLP, FIM, Honey Pots, IDS, NetFlow, Vulnerability Scanning, AV, SIEM). This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve Info Security issues.

The ideal candidate for this position should have IT security experience, excellent networking skills, a strong understanding of information security risks, IT technologies, and a passion for the security discipline.

Responsibilities:

* Participates in the architecture, configuration, deployment, integration, and maintenance of Security Engineering solutions and applications.
* Demonstrate advanced understanding of business processes, internal control risk management, IT controls and related standards.
* Participates in the research and identification of new and emerging technology to augment Windstreams Info Security processes.
* Assists with developing the Info Security architectural vision and leads the installation, configuration and management of key Info Security systems
* Performs proof of concept testing to identify new or emerging Info Security technologies and engineer them to benefit Windstream.
* Experience in working with compliance and regulatory program requirements.
* Experience deploying and/or supporting a security solution.
* Experience analyzing network, event and security logs.

Required Skills/Competencies:

* 1-3 years experience System administration, information security or related field
* Entry level security certification SSCP, CEH, Security+ or similar
* Hands-on experience in Info Security specifically working with one or more of the following: IDS, SIEM, Vulnerability Management, Honey Pots, CASB, DLP
* Experience setting up IDS, SIEM, Vulnerability Management, Honey Pots, CASB, DLP
* Experience working within Info Security solutions in an enterprise environment
* Experience working with Microsoft Active Directory and Lightweight Directory Access (LDAP) systems
* Experienced with Windows, Linux / UNIX, Oracle, SQL
* Requires an in-depth understanding of the application of security control frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001) and compliance regulations (PCI-DSS, SOX)
* Basic knowledge of OWASP Guidelines (XSS, SQL Injection, etc.) for application security
* Familiarity with industry standard vulnerability management solutions
* Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written
* Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time and perform other requirements of the position

Job Requirements

Minimum Education: Bachelors degree, or equivalent combination of experience and education: Info Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
