Job Description

The Director of Strategy is responsible for providing strategic and tactical governance for the initial commercial entrance into newly identified Biotech markets. This role provides strategic planning direction through interaction with business leaders, serving as an advisor and thought partner. The position is responsible for identifying, prioritizing, developing and delivering market insights to drive strategy development. The Director of Strategy will engage with business leaders during the strategy planning process and quantify potential markets and investment risks for strategic growth opportunities.

Essential Job Functions

* Develop portfolio strategies including market intelligence, open innovation, portfolio and technology roadmaps, M&A opportunities, commercialization strategy and operational plans.
* Partner with the business to identify and leverage customer facing Key Opinions leaders and ensure our strategies are supported through branding and white papers.
* Provide program management leadership for strategies being implemented into the business. Ensure portfolio transition from development to adoption into the business and maintain a consultative supporting role once transitioned.
* Develop initial promotion strategies, demand generation, and portfolio plans, assessing product profitability and sales success.
* Transition captive opportunities into Biotech Business Units standard work, aligning with the organization on governance, the development of domain expertise and best in class practices.
* Seek new adjacent market opportunities through participation in M&A due diligence teams, conducting external business reviews and technology assessments
* Perform strategy specific analytical deep-dives to define and size market segments, the customer landscape customer personas to identify performance trends and opportunities.

Education and Experience

* Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing or related life sciences discipline. MBA preferred.
* 7 years of strategic planning experience. Life Sciences management consulting preferred.
* Knowledge of technical and scientific details of biotechnology preferred.
* Experience working with financial modeling.
* Experience building credibility with customers, key opinion leaders and internal stakeholders.
* Prior experience managing significant project initiatives.

* Ability to communicate both written and orally to internal and external audiences, including to the leadership teams, to foster collaboration, drive alignment, and achieve results.
* Strong command of Microsoft Office products: PowerPoint; Excel, Word.
