Job Description

GDIT has an exciting opportunity for a Production Control - Material Coordinator at Ft. Lewis, WA. Must have a current and active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities:
* Operates within all established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA).
* Use Global Combat Support System - Army ( GCSS - Army ) to enter, update and maintain maintenance records.
* Shipping and receiving frequent lifting of materials and products up to 50 pounds.
* Establish and maintain stock records and other documents such as inventory, material control, accounting and supply reports.
* Review and verify quantities received against bills of contracts, purchase requests and shipping documents.
* Unload, unpack, count, segregate, palletize and store incoming supplies and equipment.
* Construct bins, shelving and other storage aids.
* Simplify and standardize the collection and use of maintenance data.
* Raise the quality and accuracy of performance, cost and parts data through improved maintenance management.
* Verifies and keeps automated and manual records on incoming/outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
* Performs preventive maintenance and machinery operation of forklift requiring the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats.
* Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment. Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled.
* Acquires and maintains Hazardous Material Shipping and Fork Lift Operation certifications.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Current and Active Secret clearance
* AA/AS, 5+ years experience
* Valid Washington State Driver's License
* Perform routine database update entries, maintain routine communications using email, phone, and general status briefings, and provide other logistical support at the CECOM RSC JBLM.
* Experience using Global Combat Support System - Army ( GCSS - Army ) Plus
* Hazardous Material Shipping and Handling Certifications are a plus. (MIL or COM)
* Knowledge of standard military transportation/distribution procedures a plus.
