Principal Engineer - Product Quality and Reliability Assurance, High Performance DRAM
As a member of the Global Quality team, you will be a guardian of Microns brand. You will innovate creative solutions to prevent problems with product performance before they occur and minimize the impact when they do. Youll also be on the frontlines of meaningful customer issues. In all you do, youll demonstrate your technical knowledge and creativity to deliver efficient and effective solutions.
As a Principal Product Quality and Reliability Assurance (PQRA) at Micron Technology, Inc., you will support reliability qualification and quality monitoring of High Performance DRAM memory products (Graphics DRAM/GDDRx and/or HBM), help develop product reliability methodologies, and respond to product deviations as they pertain to quality and reliability. You will establish and execute Quality and Reliability requirements, specifications, and metrics such as Defects per Million (DPM), Failures in Time (FIT), and Lifetime. In this role, you will work with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure product reliability methods are established and followed, perform risk assessments, and provide support for manufacturing teams regarding reliability issues. You will have opportunities to gain new product knowledge on an ongoing basis.
This position can sit in Boise, ID, or San Jose, CA.
You will:
Conduct New Product Qualifications
* Define High Performance DRAM (GDDRx, HBM) Qualification requirements
* Comprehend failures and failure rate within the scope of the Qualification
* Perform risk assessment at all decision points within the Qualification cycle
* Review qualification data and certify that Qualification requirements have been met
* Issue internal product release notifications for Qualification
Develop Product Reliability Methodology, Monitors, Metrics, and Specifications
* Cooperatively develop and establish reliability targets and standards with technology development and product engineering teams
* Comprehend and assess new DRAM wafer fab and packaging technologies to identify and avoid product reliability issues
* Develop and improve product reliability tests to assess new DRAM failure mechanisms
* Coordinate and drive necessary specification enhancements for existing products
Establish and Implement Quality Requirements
* Establish and review ongoing product Quality Metrics
* Assess deviations for product quality and reliability risks
* Define evaluation necessary to mitigate risks
* Review and support process Excursion Analysis
* Communicate violations to defined release/acceptance criteria
* Communicate issues and corrective actions across all Micron products
Provide Internal Technical Support for Customer Support Teams
* Assist RMA Team with detailed analysis of returned material
* Investigate manufacturing history and identify issues related to customer failure signature
* Perform additional data collection as needed and per customer request
* Develop Reliability Process Monitor (RPM) plans
* Assist with necessary corrective actions at the manufacturing level
* Comprehend field failure rates relative to internal failure rates
Education:
* M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field of study
Required Qualifications:
* 5 years or more engineering experience with DRAM memory systems and/or products in one or more of the following areas:
* Product Quality and Reliability
* Product Engineering
* Process Integration
* Product Yield Enhancement
* Product Test
* Product Design
* Familiarity with semiconductor wafer fabrication, advanced packaging, and semiconductor device physics.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with Graphics Memory Systems
* Familiarity with Perl, C++, Python, HTML, CGI, or Java
