The Supply Operations Department located in Riverside (March Air Base area) CA has an opening for a Plant Production Manager, supporting the Riverside Soup Manufacturing Plant.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage the day to day operation of a facility with 24/7 accountability.
Proven ability to lead by example and hold all team members accountable in the implementation of company policies.
Set and measure plant performance KPIs both short and long term.
Provide evidence-data based process improvement measures and implement them
Take ownership of plant culture and build an employee-based model of continuous feedback loops.
Manage employee relations by partnering with Human Resources partners.
Hiring the most talented individuals to coach and mentor.
Financial and budget management, to include being accountable for achieving Annual Operating Plan with emphasis on controllable costs and costs savings initiatives.
Drive continuous improvement in the areas of profit, ROI, process improvements. Utilize new technology and methodologies such as TPM to maximize OEE.
Effectively cultivate and promote a positive employee driven, safe and innovative work environment.
Maintain a high level of customer service to both our retail and public customers.
Continued development of World-class concepts, including Lean Manufacturing, TPM and Lean Sigma focused on cost and waste reduction.
Ensure Company policies, procedures and practices are strictly adhered to, including appropriate audits, controls and segregation of duties are in place to support Sarbanes Oxley compliance.
Ensure production of a quality product in compliance with Company, FDA, USDA and State guidelines.
Thorough understanding of Thermo Process, Commercial Sterility, Container Seal Integrity, GMP's and BRC/AIB/SQF regulations pertaining to Food safety and quality.
Collaborate and ensure timely completion of plant goals/action plans, both short and long term.
Actively interface with Regulatory Agencies such as USDA, FDA, OSHA, Cal OSHA and local entities.
Project Delivery Leader accountable for the cost estimation, installation, acceptance criteria and qualification of all capital projects.
Qualifications:
Experience required in Food Manufacturing (Beverage / Sauce / Soup)
Experience with TPM, Root Cause Analysis, Continuous Improvement, Process Mapping, Autonomous Maintenance and OEE.
Proven understanding of HACCP, USDA, FDA, GMPs and OSHA regulations pertaining to product safety and quality strongly preferred.
Four-year college degree in Food Science, Engineering, and/or Business Management preferred.
Five plus years supervision experience working in a high volume thermo process and continuous hot fill environment preferably soup products.
Strong interpersonal and high-performance team building skills.
Ability to empower the workforce and build strong teams through hiring, developing, evaluating, training, coaching and succession planning.
Experience in developing high performing team members.
Strong communication skills and ability to build direct relationships with hourly associates.
Proven ability to manage and lead a workforce of inclusivity and diversity strongly preferred.
Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility to work off shifts when necessary.
Experience in holding employees accountable for working safely and providing a safe work environment.
Proven ability to define performance measures directly related to business and hold people accountable for such.
Proven ability to do financial analysis and review and analyze existing cost data.
Proven experience in developing and managing annual operating plans through forecasting tools.
Excellent internal and external customer service focus / results oriented mindset.
Advanced computer skills including MS Excel (Pivot tables, data visualization), MS Word, SAP and Adage.
Must possess the following traits: motivated, proactive, risk taker, change agent and keen sense of managerial courage.
High EQ to administer and receive constructive feedback.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to build trusting team member relations

In 1939, Joe Albertson, a former Safeway district manager, took $5,000 he saved and $7,500 he borrowed from his wife’s Aunt Bertie, and partnered with L.S. Skaggs to open his first Albertsons store on 16th and State Streets in Boise, Idaho. Joe knew the keys of running a really great store, and it was all about working hard for the customers: give them the products they want, at a fair price, with lots of tender, loving care. Joe was innovative, too. He had one of the first in-store magazine racks in the country along with a scratch bakery and fresh ice cream made in-store. He worked hard, seven days a week, on his vision to build his company, and through his inspiring work ethic and tireless
determination to run the best store, the first store thrived. Just two years later, he had opened two other stores in neighboring communities and grew the fledgling company’s sales to over $1 million by the end of 1941.
