The position is responsible for category strategic sourcing for the Catalysts and Licensing Process Technologies. The position leads Global Category Sourcing Strategy developing, ensures continuous supply and quality of products, cost savings and cost avoidance and manages the supplier qualification as well as collaborates with Product Sourcing Managers to improve product line competitiveness, promote the use of best-cost country sourcing and support strategic innovative technologies.
The incumbent is technically competent, able to understand processes and equipment, externally focused, with strong commercial acumen.
The Category Sourcing Manager, Catalysts and Licensing Process Technologies (CSM CLPT) will:
1. Align the Global Category Strategies with the Product Lines business and technical needs.
2. Manage cost competitiveness through capital cost reduction and execution hours reductions, ensure continuous supply and quality of products.
3. Manage strategic technology supply chain.
4. Develop Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program for critical suppliers (strategy includes Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) based on the Scorecard approach and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to make Air Products a Customer-of-Choice.
5. Ensure continuous supply and quality of products, cost savings and cost avoidance to achieve the lowest Total Cost of Ownership and increase working capital.
6. Eliminate the Sole- or Single source situation and manage the supplier qualification for this Category.
7. Proactively work with different stakeholders including Engineering and Regional Procurement Centers to solve operational issues and engage suppliers at a strategic level.
8. Proactively engage the marketplace (market assessment, participation in conferences and industry events, early supplier inquiries) to define global supplier offerings and meet AP Product and Technology technical requirements for the following products:
9. Methanol
10. Ammonia
11. Sulfur capture
12. Hydrogen reforming catalyst/ JM license technology
13. Syngas/naphtha/LNG purification
14. Negotiate supply agreements and standardized contracts with suppliers.
15. Support AP Technology work to develop new solutions and materials with suppliers:
16. Johnson-Matthey Ar RHO adsorbent
17. Hopcalite BCC supplier development
18. Hydrogen reformer cycle/catalyst optimization
19. High sulfur feedgas solutions
20. Post-reformer/Gas-heated reformer technology for low steam plants
21. Manage catalyst supply chain:
22. Own Johnson-Matthey Supply Agreement for GEMTE (hydrogen catalyst)
23. Own Haldor-Topsoe Alliance Agreement (methanol and ammonia catalyst)
24. Develop hopcalite catalyst Best Cost Country (BCC) options
25. Qualify alternative sources for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst for NOx abatement
26. Qualify new suppliers for PHG catalyst and for deoxo catalyst

Qualifications:
* BS in supply chain, Engineering, or business. MBA degree is a plus.
* 5+ years of work experience in an industrial environment including sourcing or engineering experience related to the assigned categories and equipment
* Strong understanding of company business model and markets.
