Where You Will Work: The University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) manages the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and various UCAR Community Programs (UCP) all in service of advancing knowledge, providing community-based resources, and building human capacity in atmospheric and related sciences. This position supports one of UCPs community programs, the Cooperative Programs for the Advancement of Earth System Science (CPAESS) whose services are all in support of the board Earth system science community. CPAESS works with multiple U.S. Federal agencies to provide a variety of scientific partnerships, scientific program management, and scientific community building services. What You Will Do: Serves an integral role in fostering and maintaining relationships with Federal Sponsors and Hosts. Provides comprehensive administration to the CPAESS program and Federal Sponsors and Hosts. Serves as liaison between UCAR Human Resources and CPAESS representing sponsor programs on all aspects of employee life cycle management. Responsibilities: External staffing engagement Engages with federal sponsors/hosts to support programmatic staffing needs from position description development to onboarding. Gathers programmatic requirements, including gathering key duties for requested position fulfillment. This may include planning for visa sponsorship. Works closely with CPAESS Budget and Grants Analysts to ensure funding availability for new and renewed appointments.
