Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW:

This position requires a high proficiency in Accounts Payable processes and is responsible for a wide range of processing activities including a strong focus on vendor account management. Activities include invoice and returns processing, vendor account management, dispute resolution, payment coordination, process improvements and compliance initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Reconcile supplier statements, review trial balances and investigate open items. Resolve discrepancy items by reaching out to suppliers. Types of Items include: shortages, price pends, drop shipments, returns, chargebacks, credits, etc.
* Foster supplier relationships and alert management of any potential areas requiring attention to maintain a solid partnership. Provide information to upper management for resolving supplier disputes.
* Invoice processing activities related to vendors with greater complexity. Transaction types include; 3 way matches, EDI and manual entry invoices and may involve foreign currency conversions.
* Provide training for new and less experienced AP reps and keep supervisor or manager informed of any conflicts or problems.
* Work on internal teams for process improvement initiatives. Make recommendations and assist in building and following new processes. Troubleshoot problem areas related to AP and offer solutions that can be shared with the rest of the team.
* Run ad-hoc reports as required and test the system for new process changes as needed.
* Assist with special projects as requested.

SKILL:

High level understanding of the AP process and associated complexities. Strong communication skills to deal with outside suppliers and internal teams effectively to maintain strong relationships.

COMPLEXITY:

Work on accounts and assignments that are challenging, requiring judgment in resolving issues and in making recommendations on how to improve processes.

SUPERVISION:

Work under minimal supervision and receive little to no instruction on daily work, receive general instruction on newly introduced assignments.

Qualification

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Typically 3 or more years of related experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

High School graduate, vocational and /or on-the-job training. Bachelors degree preferred.

Typically, to advance to a new job level, TSMs must demonstrate professional behavior and should consistently be at the high-end of meets expectations or consistently exceed expectations.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.
