GDIT is currently seeking an Applications Developer to provide technical support for a new program that provides agency-wide Enterprise IT support. The Applications Developer will serve in a vital program role, responsible for developing new software applications and updating and modifying existing applications.
Developing software solutions to meet customer needs
Writing high-quality code to program complete applications on schedule
Testing source code and debugging code
Customize existing code to ensure efficiency and functionality
Accurately document programming and code changes
Understanding user requirements and how they translate to new application features
Collaborating with development team and other IT staff to set specifications for new applications
Utilize industry-accepted testing methods to troubleshoot flaws
Create reports and present development updates to teams and stakeholders
Support the efforts to deploy SecDevOps, Infrastructure as Code and automation efforts across the service area
Required Skills:
o Bachelor's Degree in a related business or technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
o Proven working experience as an Applications Developer for Top Secret mission critical systems and networks
o Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
o Up-to-date knowledge of different programming languages
o Ability to work collaboratively to ensure effective execution of project deadlines
o Strongly detail-oriented with an ability to quickly identify and solve programming errors
o Detailed knowledge of relevant government regulations and standards
o Possess an active TS/SCI security clearance, with Full-Scope Polygraph
