Economic Development Analyst, Advocacy

Job Description

Facebook designs, builds, leases and operates the most innovative and efficient data centers in the world. Developing, operating and managing the data center infrastructure and facilities the right way is synonymous with ensuring high uptime, capacity availability, flexibility and capital and operational cost efficiency in a safe, healthy working environment. Facebook is seeking an experienced and outgoing individual to join our data center economic development team. This role will partner with our data center economic development team to help track and respond to legislation being introduced in new and existing data center states as well as support miscellaneous research efforts across our team. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (up to 25%).

Economic Development Analyst, Advocacy Responsibilities

* Interface with internal organizations including energy, policy, site selection and tax

* Track and analyze relevant bills introduced in current and future data center states

* Partner with economic development and energy managers to prepare summary materials throughout the legislative session

* Work cross-functionally to understand our energy and state and local tax issues needed to support our efforts

* Support research efforts relating to community engagement and new location diligence

* Lead various projects related to our data centers, as needed

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in political science, business, or technical discipline

* 3+ years of experience in state or federal government, government affairs, economic development, or energy related field

* Experienced in coordinating both internal staff and consultants

* Experience using Microsoft Office and Google Workplace applications

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with legislative tracking
