Job Summary/Purpose
The Manager, Value & Portfolio Management serves as a leader and point of escalation for the Distribution investment programs performance and value realization program. The manager is responsible for the measurement, tracking and reporting of Distribution investment program benefits as it relates to (end to end) portfolio and use case performance. Coordination with other areas of Distribution and other business units throughout the company and external vendors as needed.
This position will lead in the delivery of technical support, review and oversight of related portfolio value management activities, and ensure the value and project management team and external vendor teams track and deliver projects expected value on time, and with adherence to stated business requirements and expected benefits. The position will also be responsible to maintain an active level of awareness on project status, risks, and issues for all projects under their responsibility relating to the enablement and realization of benefits.
The position will lead in the advancement and maintenance of a working relationship with impacted Business Units, and develop an understanding of their challenges, working style, and operational requirements to help deliver robust value-added work products.
The manager will provide leadership and governance of the benefits management process and the identification and mitigation of risks and dependencies of value realization.
This position requires direct interaction with senior executives and directors to ensure robust business cases and change management plans are developed and tracked to ensure value realization occurs as Distribution programs are deployed. This position will develop, own and maintain the Distribution value realization process and benefits management framework and ensure its alignment with Entergys strategy initiatives as well as finance and analytics best practices.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
1. Manage to both program/project/portfolio performance (e.g., delivery on commitments, quality, responsiveness, reliability, service levels) and value realization (e.g., business case) expectations.
2. Provide leadership and assume ownership around the value realization management framework. Create awareness of future emerging trends, innovative value and project management technologies and best practices.
3. Facilitate, establish and maintain appropriate business relationships with business unit leads. Act as focal point for assigned portfolio value measurement, tracking and reporting activities.
4. Lead the design, development, and management of a portfolio dashboard with key performance indicators and metrics that assist in assessing and measuring benefits outcomes. Provide leadership in the development and integrity of the benefits management and reporting process. Provide guidance on the benefits metrics and measurement, benefits forecasting and identification of appropriate financial and operational measures.
5. Be a leader for Entergys Distribution efforts both inside and outside of the organization, promoting collaboration and communication through business unit driven use cases.
6. Provide governance and guidance for benefits forecasting and recalibration of benefits to changes in scope and schedule, quality/reliability issues, and resource constraints that could impact benefits.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position
Bachelor's degree Business, economics, IT or related STEM/ analytical field.
Preferred: MBA or advanced degree in economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, finance, engineering or other analytical field.
Minimum experience required of the position
10 years of relevant experience with in-depth understanding of business case development, value realization tracking and reporting. 5+ years of electric and gas utility experience
