As a member of the Operations team, you will operate Micron system's in a safe, efficient manner without sacrificing water quality. This is done by analyzing data, monitoring chemical and water use, or adjusting parameters to improve efficiency.

The Operations Tech / Water & Waste Water Operator (Water Operator) may be assigned to work as a Control Room Operator. You will monitor the Facility Management Control System (FMCS) for out of spec conditions and alarms. It is expected that the employee participate in training and development efforts as appropriate, will comply with updated training requirements, and will continue to gain in skill and knowledge related to this job.

In addition, the Water Operator is to work to develop competency in the area of the Operations Tech / HVAC Operators. The Water Operator will be a resource to the Shift Supervisor for addressing any and all needs at the plant on the HVAC side of Operations.

Responsibilities

* Be knowledgeable in the written procedures and responsible for all systems involving the collection, treatment, stream segregation, and quality control for all Water & Waste Water distribution and collection systems on the site
* Be responsible for restoring water collection and treatment systems after a power outage and process upsets
* Assure proper treatment and disposal of wastewater while staying within discharge permit limits
* Perform routine and reactive procedures and tasks associated with each UPW and wastewater system
* Complete and keep assigned preventative maintenance procedures associated with the UPW and wastewater purification equipment up to date
* Systematically troubleshoots system/equipment problems to identify the root cause of the problem and arrive at an effective solution
* Assist new employees in the group in learning systems, tools, and job responsibilities
* Become familiar with the FMCS
* Assist in the start-up or shut-down of equipment using the FMCS
* Analyze data collected on equipment and determine if maintenance is required and make minor adjustments and repairs as needed
* Review and write procedures as needed.
* Respond to, identify, prioritize, and resolve alarms associated with treatment systems in a timely manner
* Maintain contact with Fab personnel regarding HVAC, UPW and wastewater in the event of an upset, and when performing standard procedures
* Strive to keep day-to-day plant operation costs to a minimum
* Monitor and adjust control systems as necessary to keep within specifications, contact the Shift Supervisor and the System Owners when any system is out of spec
* Become familiar with, and strictly adhere to operating procedures
* Complete and stay current on all department and company related training
* Work overtime to cover shifts as needed
* Arrange for coverage for each shift not worked that is scheduled for time off be willing to cover shifts for other Operators upon reasonable request
* Perform expectations and other job-related duties as assigned by the Water Services Supervisor and/or the Operations Manager
* Adopt and internalize the Micron Core Values to the satisfaction of the Water Services Supervisor, the Shift Supervisor, and the Operations Manager
* As directed by the Water Services Supervisor, own and maintain a designated area of the plant in a clean and well kept manner, keeping the work environment clean and safe as per the TPM guidelines
* Comply with the provisions of the Site Incident Prevention Program (SIPP) and do not perform any work that could affect Manufacturing without an approved SIPP
* Obtain Qualification and Certification status for Operators in the Water systems within the time frame outlined in such a program at its official release
* Actively strive for continuous Operator improvement and Qualification and advanced certification (if any) for both Water & Wastewater
* Accomplish training profile assignments within the time frame allotted by the Water Services Supervisor
* Gather samples and deliver for laboratory work on schedule and without contamination; perform and complete samples in the Water Lab accurately and on schedule
* Assure strict and complete adherence to Department documentation policies with regard to log sheets, electronic log books, electronic data filing, and pass downs
* Correctly deal with instances of leaks in accordance with Department Policy
* Learn to display effective writing skills as directed by the Water Services Supervisor
* Learn to display excellent communicative skills as directed by the Water Services Supervisor
* Learn and display proper teambuilding skill when working with fellow team members as stated in the Team Member Guidebook
* Understand and use the General Operating Procedure, which includes Control Room operating protocol.
* Perform parameter changes as needed and when instructed by the Water Services Supervisor. All changes need to be annotated and recorded in the Operations Log Book.
* Provide recommendations on parameter changes
* Could be a member of ERT

Desired Skills & Qualifications

* One year of water or wastewater training and/or experience is desirable
* Mechanical experience in a related field is helpful
* Be pro-active in the event of a system failure and become familiar with Fab and production areas, Fab Support equipment, equipment drains, technician contacts, supervisors, and Fab managers
* Demonstrate the ability to handle basic arithmetic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and exponents of real numbers, fractions, and decimals). Pass a basic competency test within 1 year of employment or roll out of the program
* Demonstrate an understanding of basic operations principles including but not limited to: mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and chemical principles; take and pass written competency tests as a part of the Qualification and Certification programs and schedule.
* Be able to lift and move objects up to at least 40 lbs
* Be willing to work shifts including weekends, nights, and holidays as the schedule dictates
* Become familiar with, and adhere to all Micron company policies, handbooks, and procedures
* Ability to develop and use Microsoft Office computer programs outlined in the training profile
* Ability to perform work on a ladder
* Ability to work in a confined space
