Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Chemical Operator to join our ISP Freetown Fine Chemicals business at our Freetown, MA. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Operations function. This position will report to the Production Supervisor.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Performs batch operations
* Performs equipment preparations for starting batches
* Operates dryers and blenders
* Performs material handling operations; including being able to operate a fork truck
* Operates packaging equipment
* Performs additional work as required by Supervisor or Team Leader

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

* High school diploma or GED
* Must have a valid drivers license (required to operate a fork truck in Massachusetts)
* Strong knowledge in plant utilities and safety
* Ability to work a rotating shifts (7:00 am to 7:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 7:00 am)
* Ability to follow directions
* Close attention to detail
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Mechanical and computer aptitude

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

* 1 year experience in chemical manufacturing batch operations and a good knowledge batch processes desirable
* Associate Degree in Science/Chemistry and looking for a career in the chemical industry
