Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy (NEE) is the leading clean energy provider in the United States. NEE currently has an opening for an Electrical / I&C Engineering position in the Engineering Department at the Seabrook Nuclear Power Station, located in Seabrook NH. The position available is in the Electrical / Instrument & Controls Design Engineering Department at Seabrook Station.

Role & Responsibilities

Responsible for advanced and complex engineering tasks, develops complex modifications, and performs electrical and I&C design calculations and evaluations in accordance with industry standards, which requires broad nuclear plant engineering experience and application of engineering principles. Responsible for the administration and support of the station Equipment Environmental Qualification Program. Also responsible for the development of modifications in support of station operations. Minimum of One (1) years related experience. Works independently with broad supervisory review Independently performs complex engineering tasks that require knowledge and experience with nuclear industry standards and regulations.

Tasks include:

* Participates in field walk downs of plant equipment.
* Participates in equipment selection for assigned projects.
* Performs calculations and validates the results using independent techniques.
* Develops and works to an Engineering schedule. Periodically reports out on schedule progress.
* Applies nuclear industry standards and regulations to solve new problems and address situations
* Presents final project to senior leadership.
* Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualification

* Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
* Effective Written / Verbal Communications Skills
* Minimum of one (1) years of Engineering experience.
* Masters of Science Degree in Engineering

Job Overview

This job performs activities in support of engineering operations and project completion. Employees in this role conduct engineering root cause analysis and develop cost effective countermeasures. Individuals also perform engineering fundamental activities to support operations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

* Performs engineering/analytical tasks to develop reliable, cost effective recommendations
* Uses advanced computer models to develop and study solution feasibility
* Prepares engineering documentation and assists with technical support for licensing and other regulatory proceedings
* Ensures procured materials and services meet engineering specifications
* Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's Engineering
* Experience: 2+ years

Preferred Qualifications

* Certified Professional Engineer (PE)
