What You’ll Build

The SAP Internship Experience Program is SAP’s global, strategic, paid internship program that provides university students with opportunities to find purpose in their careers. This is more than an internship; it’s the foundation for a career built on connection, creativity, and impact.

Position title: SAP SuccessFactors iXp Intern – Software Developer, Learning

Location: Palo Alto, California (Hybrid) 

Expected start date to end date: June 1st, 2026 – August 15, 2026

In this role, you’ll:

Design, develop, test, and enhance software by understanding requirements, implementing and testing features, writing automated tests, and resolving issues.

Embrace lean and agile software development principles by participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives.

Collaborate and innovate with Product, Design, and other engineering teams to deliver a seamless, consistent, and engaging product/experience for millions of users

Gain experience working with Generative AI, Foundation Models, and LLMs

Grow in leadership, presentation, and other soft skills.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stays curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

Candidates to be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or master’s degree program in Computer Science or Engineering at an accredited institution

Good understanding of algorithms, data structures, OOP, design patterns, and software design principles

Proficiency in programming and scripting languages: Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, Groovy, or Bash.

Knowledge of backend services (REST APIs, Microservices) and frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).

Understanding of at least one relational database system such as SAP Hana, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or DB2

DevOps mindset – inherent sense of ownership through the development and deployment lifecycle

Technologies/Tools/Architectures you could enjoy: Cloud development, AI, Microservices, Continuous Delivery, Spring Boot, Spring Reactor, Docker, Kubernetes, Swagger, Hadoop

Familiarity with UI technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS

Thrive in a fast-paced environment working with multiple teams across various geographies

Willingness to “go the extra mile” to ensure the highest quality of experience for our customers

Extremely strong passion for technology and software craftsmanship
