Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Global Director of Enterprise Architecture. This position can be located in Houston, Texas or Midland, Michigan.
Dow is seeking a dynamic and visionary Global Director of Enterprise Architecture to define and drive the strategic technology, process, systems, and data architecture landscape for our organization. The leader will oversee a team of talented architects, guiding the development of a cohesive enterprise architecture that enables innovation, scalability, and resilience. A key focus of this role is to harness the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence, ensuring the integration of AI capabilities into our enterprise architecture plans.
The ideal candidate combines strategic foresight, leadership excellence, and deep understanding of architectural design and governance—including process, systems, and data domains. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate agility to respond to a rapidly evolving digital landscape while translating vision into practical, long-term planning. The ability to create strong partnerships, collaborate across different teams, and navigate ambiguity are also important.
Responsibilities:
Define and communicate the long-term enterprise architecture strategy aligned with business objectives.
Establish a roadmap for technology modernization and end-to-end process anchored AI enablement across the enterprise.
Build and mentor a high-performing global architecture team; foster a culture of agility, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Ensure AI capabilities are embedded into architecture standards and technology platforms.
Develop and enforce enterprise architecture principles, frameworks, and governance models.
Serve as a trusted advisor on emerging technologies and digital transformation initiatives.
Facilitate executive forums focus on process, technology and data governance
Oversee evaluation and selection of enterprise platforms, tools, and technologies.
Monitor industry trends and assess their potential impact on the enterprise.
Define metrics to measure architecture effectiveness and business impact.
Ensure architecture decisions deliver measurable value in agility, cost optimization, and customer experience.
Oversee architecture governance, standards, and roadmaps across business units, ensuring interoperability, scalability, and compliance.
Collaborate with executive leadership to translate business needs into process, data and technology capabilities and investment priorities.
Represent the company in industry forums, regulatory discussions, and customer engagements related to technology strategy.
Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required, with a preference for candidates holding a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or Business Management.
A minimum 15 years of progressive experience in enterprise architecture, IT strategy, or digital transformation.
A minimum 5 years of executive and people leadership experience.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Your Skills:
Enterprise Architecture Leadership: Proven success leading enterprise-wide architecture programs in complex, global organizations—preferably in chemical, industrial, or manufacturing sectors.
Strategic Business Alignment: Strong business acumen with a track record of aligning technology with strategic business outcomes.
Leadership & Communication: Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Operational Management: Experience managing large teams and budgets; comfortable operating in matrixed and global environments.
