We are seeking applicants for a Garage Mechanic Millwright in our International Falls, MN Paper Mill. The International Falls facility is a White Paper Mill owned by Packaging Corporation of America.
Responsibilities:
Follow all company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures.
Work as part of a team in support of a paper manufacturing operation with a goal of increasing productivity; decreasing downtime.
Troubleshoot, repair, modify and maintain work on a variety of mobile industrial equipment.
Perform pump repair, arc welding, proper rigging.
Ability to operate mobile cranes, fork trucks, mobile lifts, and hoists.
Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Completion of a 2-year technical program
Must be able to sit, stoop, and bend.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Must have a current valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a paper or other manufacturing environment.
Training and certification in mobile equipment repair.
3 years’ experience as a heavy industrial mechanic or maintenance mechanic or equivalent training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must be willing to work closely on a day-to-day basis with others including production personnel.
Must be self-motivated with minimal direction at times.
Ability to share ideas with others to solve problems of essential importance.
Thrive in a cross-functional team environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.
Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary range for position: $29.61 (76% Apprentice) to $38.96 (Full Journeyman)
