Responsibilities
The Diagnostic Imaging/Vascular Access Nurse is responsible for the assessment, care planning, and direct care of patients before, during, and after diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures. The Diagnostic Imaging/Vascular Access Nurse always advocates for patients. Safety of the patient, as well as of the staff, is the primary concern. Other responsibilities include focus on Vascular Access for inpatient and outpatient population, mainly PICC/midline insertion, central line maintenance, and complex peripheral line insertion. This RN will be responsible for establishing, applying, and updating the processes to accomplish these responsibilities. Acts as a resource and consultant for staff with regard to I.V. therapy assessment, products, and procedures. This RN will also participate in evaluating and updating this service to achieve quality patient outcomes.

The range for the role is $48.50-$74.60 hourly.
Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity)
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Associates or diploma in Nursing acceptable, baccalaureate degree preferred.
Minimum Experience:
1-2 years Medical/Surgical and Telemetry RN experience. Critical care experience preferred.
Experience in insertion, management, and removal of PICC lines/midlines, as well as central line management preferred.
Pediatric IV experience preferred
Required Certification/Registration:
Currently licensed and registered in NY State to practice as a professional nurse.
Valid ACLS and PALS required prior to position start date and maintained for the duration of employment.
Successful completion of cardiac arrhythmia interpretation course immediately upon placement into position.
CRN preferred.
CRNI certification preferred.
Vascular Access (VA-BC) certification preferred
Physical Requirements: Position will primarily be medium to light work requiring lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling and reaching are required. Position requires 20% sitting and 80% standing or walking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken and written word is required.
Working Conditions:
Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works in a clean, well-lighted, heated or ventilated facility. Position may have occasional exposure to blood, body substances, infectious materials, chemical hazards, radiation, slippery surfaces, or noise that may result from performance of duties.
Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility. Ability to multi-task. Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations. May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.
