About the opportunity 

Dayforce is looking for an experienced Cloud Architect with deep Azure infrastructure expertise to join our Cloud Infrastructure Enablement Team. You’ll be joining a team that provides expert guidance and support to internal teams and stakeholders on cloud adoption and infrastructure standards at Dayforce. Architects play a critical role in defining the future state of our Azure environment by designing secure, scalable, and resilient architectures that support the evolving needs of our product teams and customers.

You're a cloud infrastructure architect with a strong foundation in engineering and operations. With expertise in Azure and across the Microsoft technology offerings, you want to join a mid-size company that is evolving its cloud infrastructure and play a role in defining and supporting the architecture and product deployment. You have demonstrated experience working effectively as a member of a remote team. We are a remote-first, work from home employer. You have experience with design, implementation, automation, governance, and administration of highly secure, high-performance, scalable, cloud-native solutions.

What you will do

Deliver well-architected solutions that adhere to the guiding tenets of Reliability, Security, Cost Optimization, Operational Excellence, and Performance Efficiency
Provide expert level technical consultations and analyses, solving complex problems
Play a leadership role and provide subject matter expertise in designing solutions, organizing, attending and leading hands-on sessions with the Engineering teams, Application Development teams and Operations teams.
Design solutions at an abstract/conceptual level and document them in our design pattern library.
Drive continuous improvement in product, process and tools; developing and implementing new or enhanced technical methods and techniques to improve our architectural consulting practice
Work with Product Management and Development teams to provide feedback and influence the direction of product roadmap initiatives and product management processes in alignment with our cloud strategy and governance objectives
Work with other Architects to ensure knowledge sharing across our consulting practice and ensure consistent problem-solving approaches are developed
You will support the investigation and adoption of new and emerging cloud architecture practices and technologies, creating opportunities for improvement and actively participating in initiatives to improve our technical practices.

Skills and experience we value

Education. You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
Experience. 8+ years in application development and architecture with at 5+ years focused on designing and implementing Cloud systems, ideally in Azure.
Technical Expertise. Deep hands-on experience across disciplines, including:
Azure Well Architected Framework
Azure IaaS, PaaS, and Networking services (VMs, VMSS, VNet, App Gateway, App Service, Kubernetes, Private Link, NSGs, etc.)
Infrastructure design, configuration, management, and deployment of solutions that adhere to regulatory compliance requirements and security best practices
Infrastructure-as-Code tools like ARM, Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell, Python, and Azure CLI
Cluster management, hardening, performance monitoring, disaster recovery and automation.
Deploying Least Privilege solutions. Identity and access management patterns (e.g., RBAC, Managed Identities, Conditional Access)
Interpersonal skills. ?You have strong verbal and written communication skills. You are a skilled speaker who can present ideas and information in compelling ways. You can engage technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels to drive organizational effectiveness and evangelize architectural best-practices.
