Job Description

Business Overview:

The Sales Trading team is responsible for the processing of all Flow Client Requests emanating from clients (Pricing in close interaction with traders, Trading and Executing transactions in the Market). The team provides a voice execution service to in-house and external clients trading Fixed Income, Commodity & Equity listed Futures and Options, in line with our Best Execution policy and market regulation. 

This role is with the Listed Derivative Voice team under the DEC PS&F GM business line. DEC PS&F offers Listed Derivative access via multiple electronic systems for both internal and external customers globally. Electronic Markets are a key focus area of GM, with strong management support to extend and grow the percentage of trades executed via this medium.  

Scope: Fixed Income listed derivatives Sales Trader supporting team head with management of fixed income business and with the build out and expansion of the USD RV business.

Responsibilities: 

Client Relationship Management

Build solid relationships with the listed derivative community
Establish a strong understanding of market metrics to foster relationships with customers and solution providers
Identify and secure new client opportunities, expand existing relationships, and ensure they convert to P&L
Lead in resolving client enquiries, following up calls, and escalating as required
Act as day-to-day coverage for PS&F clients, including content distribution, bespoke colour, and reporting

Market Analysis and Commentary

Monitor market news and events, evaluate risks, and translate impacts to clients' investment decisions
Provide commentary on news, large market movements, and trade flow
Analyse financing markets, including content distribution, bespoke colour, and reporting

Business Development

Develop business with the existing client book and establish new business
Partner with CIB Sales and Research teams to increase visibility and promote offerings
Work closely with IT to maintain and develop trading tools, embracing digital offerings and cross-selling to clearing and partner GBLs

Risk Management

Trade and manage execution-related risks
Provide trade advice to LD clients intelligently
Trade and manage financing-related risks

Sales and Trading Objectives

Manage account relationships with clients and internal teams (sales, sales trading, and analysts)
Provide backup to other DEC Sales Traders as required and proactively manage junior team members
Assist with the build-out and expansion of the USD RV business
Increase market share of clients' ETD business
Cross-sell other products/GBLs of the bank
Promote teamwork and assist colleagues

Operational Responsibilities

Keep up-to-date with existing and new rules, regulatory changes, and compliance requirements
Liaise between clients and Trading/Risk teams for efficient and timely pricing of deals
Coordinate with internal partners to improve and enhance daily systems, processes, and workflows
Progress internal processes, liaising with legal, credit, and other teams to assist in the quick and accurate opening of new accounts

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Proven track record of executing flow ETD listed derivatives with a transferable book of business.
Established history of trading for UK institutional clients with a strong reputation.
Ability to transition an active book of business with UK institutional clients, focusing on listed futures.
Highly developed mathematical skills, with precision and accuracy in handling numbers.
Skilled in analysing complex data to draw clear and accurate conclusions.
In-depth understanding of regulatory environments related to futures strategies.
Extensive experience and knowledge of electronic markets and execution systems.
Collaborative approach to working with Global Banking and Markets (GBL) partners to drive client growth, devise strategic plans, and deliver joint sales pitches.
Proven ability to mentor and support junior team members.
Strong problem-solving skills across multiple areas, including IT, legal, and compliance.
Proactive approach to providing solutions across the entire front-to-back Straight-Through
Processing (STP) process, working closely with Middle Office (MO) and clearing partners.
Deep understanding of client needs and requirements.
Effective problem resolution skills across IT, legal, and compliance.

Platform Experience: Competent in electronic execution platforms, including Fidessa, and holds an Eurex Trader exam and FSA Certificate in derivatives.
Exchange Rules: Knowledgeable about exchange rules and regulations regarding block reporting and live crossing rules.

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $255,000 to $300,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
