About the opportunity
The Sr. Director of Decision Intelligence leader will be responsible for defining and driving the Dayforce’s analytics strategy to drive business insights and decision support. This role will be responsible for building a team that is focused on creating insights and leading decisions through data across the customer lifecycle. This critical role will be focused on advancing the ability for Dayforce to create a culture of making data driven decisions and evolving the data practice around predictive analytics.
The role will be an integral part of the leadership team in providing expertise on how to harness the power of data to make strategic business decisions across the organization. This role demands a technology and data thought leader with respect to the future needs of a growing business, while serving our stakeholders and building a world-class Business Intelligence team. The Sr. Director of Decision Intelligence will have a significant long-term impact to the business by using data in driving strategic and critical business decisions that will power our growth strategy.
What you’ll get to do
Business focus alignment will include marketing, sales, services, and customer support.
Leverage data, advanced analytics, data insights to support and drive the growth of the business.
Evolve and expand our data and analytics capabilities to unlock the value of data to all our business teams.
Work closely with senior Executives in sharing data-driven insight and foresight pertaining to their functional areas as well as end-to-end insight from across the organization.
Work with Business Technology and IT to build the next generation reporting solutions including automation and visualization of reporting.
Build and grow the Business Intelligence team with a focus on providing business insights and data-driven decision-making.
Drive change management to drive user adoption of analytical tools and methods and embrace data in strategic business decisions.
Enable business ownership with advanced analytics output and key insights through dashboards and reports.
Lead the build and execution of a data governance framework as well as rules and policies to ensure that data is used in an ethical, secure, and compliant manner. This includes identifying data owners and data quality stewards.
Assist direct reports with ongoing prioritization and resource allocation to ensure that crucial business initiatives are delivered.
Leverage industry best practices and techniques to deliver proactive and compelling business value.
Implement new tools and strategies to translate data into valuable business insights.
Responsible for budget for development of analytics tools and expense management.
Develop / maintain process to catalog, document, and validate data sources and reporting to be used as the “Source of Truth” for analytic initiatives.
Skills and experience we value
Excellent analytical capabilities - ability to consolidate information into clear, concise analysis in support of business decisions.
Ability to lead with a passion for data and analytics while simultaneously building credibility for the newly formed Business Intelligence team.
Strong business acumen and interpersonal skills; able to work across business lines at an executive level to influence and effect change to achieve common goals.
Independent thought leadership and the ability to understand and navigate the complexities & implications of executing the strategy.
A proven track record in managing large scale enterprise data strategy and execution teams with domain expertise in reporting and analytics.
Ability to influence at senior executive levels and motivate others, including those who do not have a direct reporting relationship.
What would make you really stand out
A minimum of 10+ years’ experience in a leadership role influencing decisions with analytics
A minimum of 10+ years’ experience in analytics, data science, ML, and/or predictive modeling
At least 7 years of leading and managing a team of data analysts.
Bachelor's degree in analytics, mathematics, statistics, data science, computer programming, or business; master’s degree in business- or technology-related field an asset
Travel
This is a virtual role that will require travel to attend critical leadership meetings. Travel not to exceed 20%
