Job Description

The Conventional Hose Bonding Operator is responsible for machine operation and processing in successful achievement towards final product. This position is performed following all Parker Hannifin Standard Operating Procedures and Safety regulations and practices. The incumbent contributes to and participates in a strong team environment.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

·   Sets up and operates hose welder and bonding equipment, hose re-spool equipment and assembly equipment according to engineering specifications; performs quality testing where required.

·   Determines appropriate feeds and temperature settings for proper welds and cutoffs. Determines appropriate changeover of tooling in ensuring proper dimensions according to specifications.

·   Documents, logs, compiles reports as required and/or requested.

·   Monitors machines and process, reporting irregularities to VSTL for problem identification and resolution.

·   Participates in area and process team projects and activities.

·   Performes or assists with other duties as assigned.

Education, Training and Experience

·     HS diploma or GED

·     Machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Knowledge and Skills

·     Mathematical aptitude and proficiency

·     Keyboarding skills, with some knowledge of MS Office software

·     Ability to operate manual and electric jack; Company will train

·     Measurement skills, including use of precision measuring tools and equipment

·     Ability to read blueprints and set-up sheets

·     Attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot for process and product improvement

·     Effective English verbal communication and listening skills

·     Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure

·     Successful prioritizing and management of work projects

Physical Demands

·     Extended periods of sitting/standing at work station

·     Grasping, reaching, stretching, eye/hand coordination, climbing

·     Visual acuity

·     Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

·     Frequent lifting/moving of objects up to 30 Lbs., occasional lifting/moving of objects up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment 

·     Manufacturing plant

·     Exposure to moving parts on line, as well as moving equipment throughout the plant
