Job Title: Maintenance Administrator
Location: Onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA (3930 16th Ave SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404)

Mon - Fri (10:00 AM- 7:00 PM)
Tues-Sat (7:00 AM-4:00 PM)
Mon-Fri (3:00 PM - 12:00 AM)
Tues- Sat (6:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
Sun- Thurs (7:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
Job Summary: As a Vehicle Reliability Team (VRT) Maintenance Administrator, you’ll help Team CRST’s professional drivers get back up and running fast by overseeing equipment breakdowns and coordinating repairs with CRST’s network of approved vendors. Vehicle Reliability Team Coordinators play a critical role in ensuring we continue to deliver our promises and drive success.
Compensation: $19.00/hr. Starting Wages
Day in the Job Preview: Vehicle Reliability Team (VRT) Maintenance Administrators support CRST’s professional drivers by overseeing equipment breakdowns and coordinating repairs to get them back on the road safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate must have positive and engaging communication skills that promote customer service and a natural talent for troubleshooting and applying problem-solving skills to real-life situations.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide best-in-class customer service.
Coordinate with a professional driver and CRST operations department to ensure equipment is routed to a service provider for preventative maintenance (PMs) and repairs.
Monitor the progress of repairs with external service providers, record updates as needed, and complete repair orders in Transman (CRST Equipment Solution's operating system).
Negotiate repair and labor costs with external service providers.
Answer and coordinate inbound/outbound phone calls.
Inform CRST Operations daily of equipment status.
Job Requirements:
Successful completion of a CRST background check and drug screen is required.
High school diploma or GED is required.
Computer literacy - must be able to navigate multiple screens and programs while triaging on the phone.
Ideal Experience & Skillset:
Adaptability to pivot priorities swiftly.
Utilize available resources to make timely decisions with a sense of urgency.
Demonstrate strong attention to detail.
Comfortable working in ambiguous situations and making decisions without complete information.
Associate's degree in a relevant field.

In 1955, Herald and Miriam Smith started Cedar Rapids Steel Transport out of a refurbished chicken coop they bought for $125.

He contracted with owner/operators who were hauling livestock to Chicago to return to the Cedar Rapids area with loads of steel instead of empty trucks.
