Job Summary

This executive position is responsible for identifying and evaluating new business opportunities in order to execute the company’s short-term, medium-term and long-term strategic plans.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy that aligns with the company's overall strategic plan, with a focus on revenue growth and market expansion
Identify and evaluate potential M&A and investment opportunities in upstream, midstream (including pipelines, LNG facilities, etc.) and downstream areas
Build and maintain positive relationships with potential and existing partners through regular communication and meetings
Understand partners’ needs and develop solutions to meet their business requirements, with a focus on affordable, reliable and low Carbon energy supply
Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, technologies, and competitors, and leverage the company's size to secure favorable terms and contracts
Collaborate with investment banks and brokers to identify and pursue upstream, midstream, and downstream opportunities, covering all facets of due diligence, negotiation, signing, closing, and post-closing discussions
Develop sales and supply strategies to optimize pricing and create additional demand
Develop new markets and implement contracts
Lead the negotiation of mutually beneficial terms and contracts with partners or peers
Manage complex contract negotiations and work with internal and external legal counsel as required
Foster innovation, plan projects, organize and negotiate the allocation of resources to support business development efforts
Attend industry conferences and events to network and stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments related to Gas & Power, LNG and the energy transition
Provide regular reports on business development progress, competitive analysis, and client feedback to executive management and company board of directors
Provide direct and indirect supervision of personnel, including hiring, promotion, compensation administration, and termination of employment
Ensure all employees are operating within all Chesapeake, state, and federal guidelines, policies, and regulations

Education

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field

Experience

Minimum: 15 + years related work experience
