We have an exciting role open within Caterpillar as a Business Insights Lead. This position is responsible for partnering with the business to drive outcomes that will lead to profitable growth within Resource Industries Operations & Products division (RIOP). Reporting to the Sr. Director of Finance, you will be a strategic partner providing insights into many areas of the business and working with diverse teams across the globe, including senior level leadership, to achieve profitable growth. Areas of focus include investment analysis for programs such as electrification and automation, machine profitability throughout the life cycle, large commercial deal analysis, and prioritizing investment decisions.

What You Will Do:

Engage with Vice President Organizations within the division to provide insights and analysis to inform business decisions driving profitable growth.
Partner with Finance Directors within the division to deliver insights on business opportunities for profitable growth.
Integrate multiple data sets that are financial and non-financial into financial models to drive insights into opportunities for growth.
Develop a deep expertise of the business to enhance business knowledge to improve analysis

What You Have:

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or Business
Decision Making and Critical Thinking:

Ability to get to root cause of problem to inform a decision.
Ability to process a request and provide business knowledge to provide insights.
Ability to continually grow knowledge in RIOP business and apply to business challenges.

Data Gathering & Analysis:

Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes
Ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to drive an outcome.
Ability to learn new analysis tools and systems.

Leadership:

Strong organizational capability
Excellent communication across all levels and executive presence

Strategic Thinking:

Ability to take an Enterprise point of view and lead with our Values in Action
