Overview

Burlington is seeking a Senior Benefits Analyst who will be responsible for participating on project teams, executing projects, as well as for day-to-day functional support of health & welfare and retirement benefit plans. This includes a broad spectrum of benefit plans, including but not limited to 401(k), health and welfare plans, flexible spending accounts, health care savings account, college 529 plan, etc. Responsibilities include working with third-party vendors to manage and resolve escalated issues, ensuring benefit payroll deductions are accurate, management of related interfaces between the company and other vendors. The Sr. Benefits Analyst will maintain, develop, and revise all HRIS functionality including manuals, tables, configuration and documentation related to Benefits and LOA. Collaboration with other team members including vendors, payroll, accounting, HRIS, and IT. The Benefits Analyst must have a proven analytical background as the role also requires regulatory reporting, census reporting & cost analysis to be provided to Senior Management.

A day in the life:

Assist with plan design review including driving open enrollment process, Workday configuration, testing and implementing communications.

Proactively analyzes the benefits data and benefits enrollment information in the HRIS system, identifying inconsistencies & ineligibilities where further research or enrollment / termination of enrollment is needed, and creating / implementing corrective actions.

Independently perform data analysis, system configurations and automate/streamline manual processes.

Responsible for adherence to compliance with federal, state, and local requirements, including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, QMCSOs, Cafeteria plans, and ACA, eligibility, benefit deductions, plan documents, policies including conducting non-discrimination testing.

Manage the development and testing of systems to ensure the integrity of sensitive data.

Utilize delivered reports within the Workday (HRIS) system, conducting audits of enrollments & payroll deductions & payments made to vendors.

Independently research, test and configure HRIS system for benefit administration ensuring compliance with benefit plans, policies and applicable laws and regulations.

Develops analytic reports related to benefit plan & eligibilities and cost analysis. Provides assistance with modeling and costing of plan related changes in support of federal regulations & organizational strategy.

Manages budget reporting and reconciling vendor payment of invoices.

Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in employee benefits, making recommendations for benefit adjustments as necessary.

Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures related to benefits administration.

What you’ll bring:

At least 5 years of relevant experience in a health & welfare and retirement benefits. related role.

2-3 years of configuring benefits within an HRIS, preferably Workday, preferred.

Experience with gathering, analyzing and interpreting data from multiple sources, determine validity, draw conclusions, summarize findings & make recommendations.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy, inclusive of data mining and ad hoc reporting.

Project management skills: ability to balance multiple projects concurrently in a high paced environment.

Able to determine when to escalate issues/decisions and partner with appropriate leaders.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications - specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Proven experience working with external vendors in the benefit space.
