The Market Research Analyst will be responsible for providing up to date insights for the development and launch of new solutions and markets for the ENGIE Group Energy Solutions global business unit in North America. Primary responsibilities will include market research and sizing, identification and qualification of strategic partners, competitive analysis, and voice of client research contributing to the development of business cases for new launches. Responsibilities will also include monitoring the performance of launched solutions, and their continued value proposition in changing market conditions.
This report to the Director of Solutions Innovation, in the Customer Development & Experience Team. This position will be located in ENGIE’s Chicago office, with a hybrid schedule of both in-office and work-from-home days. Candidates in Houston, Oakland, or another ENGIE office location will be considered.
What you’ll do:
Market Research
Conducts research through published reports and from primary sources to quantify market size and accessibility
Collect and interpret information on competitor activities to support business development and marketing activities, and ensure ENGIE offers differentiated value
Identify regulations impacting clients’ on-site energy and sustainability programs, and synthesize their impact on ENGIE offerings
Identify potential strategic vendors and partners to support execution of go to market activities
Support voice of the customer research for solution development
Solution and Market Monitoring
Tracks, evaluates and communicates offering performance against objectives
Coordinates with other departments to ensure collaboration and timely execution of solution and market launches
Financial Planning
Supports the development of high level business plans and business cases
Contributes to the development of pricing strategies and offer structures
What you bring:
Bachelor’s in Business, Energy-related field or Engineering, required (combination of education and relevant experience may be considered if assessed as equivalent)
MBA preferred
A minimum of three (3) years of energy industry experience required, preferably in strategy, marketing, mergers & acquisition, product management, or solution development
Knowledge of energy markets, including utility rate structures and wholesale markets
Experience with organizational energy and sustainability programs
Experience evaluating impacts of policy and regulatory impacts on business models and revenue potential
A preference will be given to industry experience in sustainability transition, cogeneration, solar, battery energy storage, resiliency, electric vehicles or smart cities
