Job Summary
This intern position analyzes, enters, verifies, and loads geoscience data under direct supervision to provide technical support to the Geoscience department.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Performs basic data management activities (loads/enters, verifies, manipulates, analyzes, and prepares reports of geoscience data).
Applies skills and concepts to ensure data integrity, data reliability and data accessibility throughout the group.
Provides technical and administrative support to Geoscientists performing geological, geophysical, or petrophysical assignments.
Performs basic assignments, such as maintaining files/records, performing simple calculations, and gathering/tabulating data for Geoscientists.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic ability to use logic, critical thinking skills, and methods to solve complex problems with effective solutions.
Basic ability to quickly learn new corporate software.
Able to learn department specific software and system applications.
Able to learn common oil and gas terminology and basic data types.
Basic knowledge of PC/mainframe systems
Demonstrates intermediate Microsoft Excel skills with capability to become expert user.
Able to recognize errors and seek solutions in a methodical manner.
Understands file storage systems, conversions, networks, and basic data management techniques.
Education
Minimum: High school diploma or GED
Minimum: Enrolled and pursuing bachelor’s degree - from accredited university
Preferred: Other - Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
