Job Summary
This summer intern position provides technical and administrative support, under direct supervision, to assist with engineering and/or development planning operations.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Performs data management activities, which include loading/entering, verifying, manipulating, analyzing and reporting data related to engineering operations
Performs simple engineering calculations and gathers/tabulates data
Assists with coordinating data transfer and updating shared data sources among departments
Utilizes software and/or programming languages to discover trends in operational data and reports. Examples include Spotfire, PowerBI, Excel, Access, Python, R, etc.)
Applies skills and concepts to ensure data integrity, data reliability and data accessibility throughout the group
Compiles data, communicates, and provides information to engineers
Performs other duties as assigned
Job Specific Skills
Basic ability to use logic, critical thinking skills, and methods to solve complex problems with effective solutions
Basic ability to quickly learn new corporate software
Basic ability to build numerical and analytical tools using standard industry and corporate software
Basic knowledge of PC/mainframe systems
Basic knowledge of database application software
Ability to use Excel and other analytical software for data manipulation
Education
Minimum: High school diploma or GED
Minimum: Enrolled and pursuing bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - Engineering Technology, Math, Science, Finance, Economics, or related field
Preferred: Other - Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
