Job Description

Summary

This Senior Accountant is responsible for performing Balance Sheet and Income Statement analysis. The Senior Accountant will research and assist Envision work paper analysis while monitoring, and if needed, implementing change to ensure best practices are being followed. This position will also supervise, train, and review the work of assigned Staff Accountants and Accounting Assistants and will participate in additional special projects and financial analysis when required.

Prepare and review journal entries for accuracy.
Train Staff Accountants and Accounting Assistants in all aspects of accounting responsibilities 
Supervise Staff Accountant and Accounting Assistants with regards to technical issues ensuring compliance with accounting standards and requirements.
Conduct Monthly Income Statement trend analysis and other preparation for review of financial reports with a member of management.
Research and prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Monitor compliance with accounting controls and policies and correct inappropriate practices.
Perform miscellaneous financial analyses.
Assist with special projects as needed.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from a four-year College or University; CPA and/or Master’s Degree preferred
3+ years' experience in Public Accounting and/or Healthcare
1+ years' experience in a Supervisory capacity
Accounting software; PC; Windows based spreadsheet/word processing packages

Other Qualifications:

Exhibit strong knowledge of US GAAP principles.
High level of competency related to knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within accounting.
Must be able to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner.
Must be able to work well with others.
Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
Must be detail oriented and organized.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks and assignments.
High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information.
Must be able to exercise good judgment and positively influence and lead others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency.
Proficient computer skills (including, but not limited to accounting software; Windows based spreadsheet/word processing package, Internet and email) required.
Must be comfortable in a work-from-home environment and meet company basic standards for working remotely. 
Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends as approved in advance.
