The Sr. Manager, Digital Architecture is a diverse professional with deep understanding of Digital Product Architecture including DevOps, Cloud Operations, Application Security, and Cloud Architecture and plays a key role in the delivery of software applications across the Toxicology business unit. This individual must demonstrate strong communication skills, detailed architecture and business documentation ability, strong problem-solving techniques, deep understanding of emerging technology, and technology tradeoffs. Key responsibilities include implementing cutting edge digital technology solutions, technical leadership while developing and maintaining relationships with product managers, solutions engineers, and architects, assist in formulating strategies and architecture, and deliver omnichannel application design.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
Provides leadership on both strategy and execution of technology solutions so that economies of scale, shared thought processes, architectural approach and intellectual capital are focused on across the organization.
Works with key technology and business leaders to establish and ensure consistent, disciplined use of technologies, including goals, principles, policies, standards, and priorities across the organization.
Act as an enterprise architecture expert, leading the development and presentation of business capability models, technology reference models, and functional area roadmaps to guide investment decisions in support of executing business and IT strategy.
Develops a rigorous technology architecture, leveraging cloud services and automation to enable business strategies and ensure cloud solutions are optimized for cost and functionality.
Partner with business leaders to identify measurable objectives, develop plans to enable their future-state capabilities, and measure effectiveness of solutions.
Define, explain, and advocate technology strategy, both applications and infrastructure
Research technology trends by scanning the major disruptive technology and nontechnology landscape and recommend progressive and practical solutions that benefit the business.
Drive DevOps capabilities across multiple sites with detailed focus on continuous integration, continuous delivery, continuous feedback, and identify/remove bottlenecks within the technology delivery process.
Develop, document, implement, and enforce policies and procedures relevant to application security such as code reviews, vulnerability management, configuration management, audits, etc.
Create and foster a cross-functional application security culture in developing, deploying, and monitoring complex applications and mission critical infrastructure.
Advance Enterprise Architecture team by providing vision, establish annual objectives, transparency to progress, articulate results to key stakeholders, and leaders.
Works with the architecture team, business, and corporate IT on developing and refining the cloud strategy, governance, capabilities to ensure a clearly defined approach to achieve optimal efficiencies related to cloud initiatives.
Establish collaborative, cross-functional relationships with business and product stakeholders to understand their needs and translate those needs into scalable, sustainable software solutions.
Champion best practices, processes, and quality initiatives to empower the team to deliver clean, high-quality, and performant code.
Utilize in-depth knowledge of cloud technologies, mobile and web technologies, software engineering, data engineering and data science to define target architectures, patterns, and automation processes.
Responsible for research, selection, implementation, and maintenance of the end-to-end tech stack including Platform, cloud, web apps, mobile apps, and internal development tools.
Manages relationships with strategic partners to facilitate the identification of new and innovative ways to deliver business outcomes with cloud technology.
Develop multi-year roadmaps, provide the vision and work with individual architects to translate this into tactical engineering blueprints.

Be a champion for AppSec and information security including broadening awareness and use of the team's services, education of security best practices and integration with other business areas.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
Strong experience leading multiple engineering teams to deliver high quality software, systems, and support through iterative improvement and regular deployment of services at scale to support other engineering teams, products, and business outcomes.
Expertise in synthesizing complex technical requirements, designs, trade-offs, and capabilities into clear decisions and communication across multiple engineering teams in a timely manner.
Experience architecting and building highly distributed systems with microservices and autonomous, loosely coupled teams utilizing domain driven design (DDD) as well as large scale data and insights infrastructure where data is a key asset and value driver for the organization.
Ten plus (10+) years of design, development, and testing enterprise software applications.
Five plus (5+) years of management experience
Experience with front end UI design and usability design preferred.
Experience with CI-CD, Cloud, and Collaboration Platform tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, Atlassian Suite
Proven ability to prioritize, manage multiple activities at one time in a high-pressure environment and adaptable to changing requirements and direction.
Detailed knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming in one or more languages
Understanding of different database storage options such as SQL and NoSQL
Proven ability to think strategically and see the big picture while also focusing teams on execution and delivery.
Ability to write clear, concise documents and diagrams (timing, state machines, register maps, memory organization, synchronization sequences, etc.)
Domain knowledge of various applications and their underlying hardware requirements (e.g., networking, cloud, distributed computing, infrastructure as code, PaaS, SaaS)
Demonstrated ability to set and meet tight deadlines and function well under pressure.
Proven ability to prioritize, manage multiple activities at one time in a high-pressure environment and adaptable to changing requirements and direction.
