This newly created role is critical to bringing the marketing vision to life.
As the Director of Marketing Operations, you will be responsible for leading the team that ensures effective strategy, efficient investment, and accountability across MetLife’s marketing department. You will be responsible for ensuring marketing technology is customized to the needs of its users as well as set up to ensure effective data quality. You will also lead process development, budget administration, and marketing analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
The role is responsible for leading and growing the marketing operations function for MetLife’s marketing organization.?Responsibilities include:
Work with LOB Leaders to define quarterly objectives, review program results and create future roadmaps
Develop marketing requirements documents for large, complex projects, including multi-channel programs that require cross-platform consideration of customer journeys and data flows
Work with channel marketers, LOB Leaders, and Specialists to execute strategies to meet those objectives
Develop and align the team on key performance indicators that measure overall channel and campaign effectiveness, allowing marketing leadership to make data-driven decisions.
Forge strong partnerships with product owners and partner marketing teams; develop effective outreach and engagement strategies tailored to defined high-value customer segments.
Regularly inform stakeholders across marketing, sales, and finance of insights on marketing performance to ensure cross functional alignment on the best possible data-driven marketing strategy.
Develop, maintain, and improve our digital platforms
Implement new software that will aid our digital marketing initiatives
Ensure the utility and functionality of our digital tools
Track the progress of our digital operations
Optimize our digital systems for better performance when necessary
Own the marketing operations roadmap, ensuring marketing technology is evaluated, selected, implemented, and customized to meet the needs of the marketing department.
Train the team on agile methodologies; mentor others on the development of "test and learn" frameworks to continuously optimize digital channel performance.
Administer the marketing budget and ensure marketing costs are tracked correctly.
Ensure marketing processes are designed, documented, understood, and followed in a way that minimizes bad or incomplete data.
Continually work to simplify systems and processes, avoiding customization bloat and over-engineered processes.
Manage, build, and lead a strong team by coaching and developing existing members and closing talent gaps where needed through acquisition of new team members.
Report on outcomes and recommendations for optimization
Assist in negotiating contracts with vendors.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required
10+ years of experience including:
5+ years of management experience
5+ years of professional experience working within Adobe AEM, Campaign or Marketo, Adobe Analytics, and Adobe Test & Target, or similar enterprise solutions
Strong leadership presence
Balance of strategic vision and tactical execution
Extremely analytical and strategic
Adept at managing multiple projects and deadlines
Excellent planning, organizational and project management skills
Highly proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Proven experience with change management and organizational transformation
