Job Description

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking a Senior Information Technology (IT) Programmer Analyst Developer I or II to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site (SRS).

The Senior Information Technology (IT) Programmer Analyst Developer I or II analyzes and gathers requirements for new web applications and maintains current applications using Java, JSP, and other web technologies. They also install and support commercial off the shelf (COTS) business systems, and provide application support to the business department personnel (i.e. Accounting, Procurement, Human Resources, Project Controls, etc.).Contributes to research, design, development, and/or modification of enterprise-wide systems and/or applications using company defined life cycle processes and secure coding techniques.

Ensures all supported commercial and developed applications meet site security requirements, department software life cycle and software compliance standards.
Develops and maintains Java web-based enterprise-wide systems and applications using company defined life cycle processes and secure coding techniques.
Develops and maintains documentation of programs developed, and modifications to code.
Installs, configures, and administers Tomcat web servers.
Maintains up-to-date patches and upgrades for existing systems.
Develops, documents, and performs application testing to resolve problems.
Works across organizations with customers on technical issues associated with specific projects.
Other duties as assigned.

Additional duties as a Senior Programmer Analyst II:

Participates in software selection discussions, roadmap planning, software systems design discussion, and applications and infrastructure maintenance planning.
Contributes to and/or guides the successful completion of projects to achieve major organizational objectives.
Researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or Java applications using company defined and/or best practice life cycle processes and secure coding techniques.
Designs moderately complex enterprise systems to meet the specific needs of customers.
Acts as a senior technical contact for projects with significant impact that need to be communicated to senior and external personnel.
Mentors and provides guidance to other team members on company defined life cycle processes, secure coding techniques, and other software design and development best practices.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma/GET and relevant work experience within the IT (information technology) field performing software development and programming as defined in the job description.

* This position may be eligible for up to 100% full time telework in accordance with the SRMC Telework Policy. All teleworking arrangements must be approved at the discretion of Management on a case-by-case basis based on a number of factors, including – without limitation – business need, the nature of the job, employee experience, management preference, and state-by-state legal compliance/requirements.
