Job Description

The Construction Coordinator III coordinates the construction execution and interface of ongoing project work. Serves as liaison between project management, project team, and construction management to coordinate the execution of work.  Scope includes awarded project work from execution through turnover to customer.

Coordinates and completes field walk downs to verify construction progress and non-technical completion of activities as identified on schedules and project scope documents.
Coordinates and participates in construction schedule development meetings to obtain understanding and knowledge of execution activities, schedule logic, durations, and interface requirements with external departments.
Maintains a comprehensive awareness of scheduled project work, required interface with external work groups and project support organizations to ensure no constraints to construction activities.
Represents the construction team in status, integration or other meetings related to assigned work scopes.
Represents construction as point of contact for coordination and interface with operations, radiological control, maintenance and other facility support organizations.  Interfaces with internal and external customers and works with other facility groups and departments including mid/upper management.
Regular Interface with Area Project Construction Manager (APCM) and Superintendents to determine schedules and budgets for all current and upcoming scope of work.
Comprehends and follows ISMS work steps (Scope, Analyze Hazards, Identify Controls, Perform Work, Feedback).  Stays current on changing work practices and policies.
Ensures that work performed is being done according to technical work documents, and according to safety standards with support from construction Engineering and Craft Supervision.
Coordinates with stakeholders to provide input to integrating project schedule activities into the facility scheduling programs (i.e. POW, lock-in and long range planning).
Conducts and participates in multiple project safety and work planning meetings to confirm schedule activities, logic and durations have been properly defined. Exercises control to implement changes necessary to ensure timely input of all data.
Routinely reviews schedules and milestone commitments to ensure progress supports on-time completion and identifies potential impacts and risk to project performance.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED and relevant experience in engineering, construction, project management as defined in the job description.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors or Associates Degree
Ability to understand and interpret various electrical and mechanical documents, construction drawings, P&IDs and Design Change Packages.
Basic understanding of facility processes, systems and equipment.
Knowledge of site work control procedures and work practices and procedures for maintenance, operations, construction and project related areas.
Knowledge of general or specific safety, environmental, regulatory, safeguards, security, emergency preparedness programs, policies, practices and guidelines.
Knowledge of schedules and schedule integration including support resources required to accomplish tasks.
Thorough knowledge of Waste Removal & Tank Closure and/or Capital Project guidelines related to cost, scope, schedule and risk management.
Demonstrated experience working in a matrix organization and coordinating activities with multiple stakeholders to include internal and external customers
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
Radiological worker trained.
