Job Summary

This management position is accountable for Category Management activities including: strategic sourcing, supplier performance management and associated activities to aid in the development of a qualified supply base, reducing total cost of ownership and improving supplier performance. Accountable for the strategy development, timely delivery of quality goods and services in support of the assigned categories, prioritization of strategic sourcing and fulfillment activities for assigned categories, reduce total cost of ownership and improve quality and supplier performance. This position is accountable for the development and continuous improvement of assigned categories, business processes, category strategies, planning and prioritization of work activities for the department and supplier performance management.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

•    Creates short and long-term capabilities (deep category subject matter expertise) to accelerate profitability and meet customer expectations.
•    Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders to execute against the business plan and growth objectives.
•    Accountable for the leadership and strategic direction of the category management function.
•    Accountable for category strategy development, sourcing strategies, contract negotiations and supply agreements and facilitates supplier performance management for assigned categories. 
•    Accountable for the timely delivery and quality of goods and services.
•    Accountable for supplier development, continuous improvement, total cost of ownership, annual cost reduction goals, and improving supplier quality.
•    Accountable for the forecast and report of savings/avoidance.
•    Accountable for supplier source selection and negotiates contracts using market research and analysis to provide the company with competitive advantage.
•    Accountable for commercial and technical analysis to normalize proposals to select the goods and/ or services which offer the best value to the company.
•    Actively participates in the supply chain management business planning and budgeting process.
•    Supports the Director of SCM with integration between teams.

Job Specific Skills

•    Expert knowledge of category management, strategic sourcing, pricing, supply chain management, simulation and optimization principles and concepts
•    Enhanced ability to build and maintain complex financial and supply chain models
•    Enhanced knowledge of administrative procedures in order to prepare and maintain reports, budgets, and administrative records as required
•    Expert knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique and the coordination of people and resources

Education

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - Supply Chain Management or related field

Experience

Minimum: 12 - 15 years of related experience
