The Role

The Uncovered Engagement Strategy & Insights team fuels the future growth of Fidelity by researching and analyzing opportunities to deepen relationships and enhance financial wellness for the 13+ million uncovered Personal Investing customers. The Senior Business Strategy Analyst will develop quantitative and analytical insights that power our approach to customer development and our engagement strategy.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

5+ years work experience, preferably in a strategy, analytics, finance, or business intelligence role
Strong financial services business knowledge; knowledge of Personal Investing products a plus
Lifelong learner – natural curiosity with interest and experience in acquiring new skills
Skills in data sourcing / integration (e.g., SQL, Snowflake, Python, R) required
Proficiency consuming data and developing insights; ability to communicate those insights in simple, straightforward manner; data visualization experience (e.g., Tableau) a plus
Detailed-oriented approach to problem solving with keen attention to detail
Critical thinking with innovation mentality to identify new opportunities / strategies

The Team

Personal Investing (“PI”) serves a wide array of customers across all age and affluence levels. The newly formed PI Client Engagement Product Area is focused on driving engagement and improving financial wellness for the 13+ million customers not in a formalized advice relationship, a top priority for PI. The Uncovered Engagement Strategy & Insights team provides leadership for our engagement strategies through qualitative and quantitative analytics, opportunity sizing, and recommendation development.

History of Fidelity Investments

The Fidelity Fund was established in 1930, a year after the stock market crash of 1929 and before the Great Depression of 1933. The fund continued to operate until 1943 when it was acquired by Boston-based lawyer Edward C. Johnson II. At the time, the fund reported assets under management valued at $3 million. In 1946, Johnson II founded the Fidelity Management and Research Company, now Fidelity Investments, to serve as an investment advisor to the Fidelity Fund. When running the fund, Johnson’s objective was to buy stocks with a potential for growth, and not necessarily blue-chip stocks.

Fidelity Investments Operations

Fidelity Investments operates several businesses, with the main ones being mutual funds and brokerage services. The mutual fund division comprises three divisions – equity, high-income, and fixed income divisions. The company operates Fidelity Contrafund, the largest non-indexed mutual fund in the United States, with over $107.4 billion in assets. Fidelity Investments also owns Fidelity Magellan, which was at one time managed by former CEO and President Ned Johnson. Fidelity Magellan manages assets totaling $15.5 billion.
