Job Description

Savannah River Mission Completion, LLC is seeking a Manager, SWPF Maintenance Support Engineering to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site.

This Maintenance Support Engineering Manager is assigned in the Salt Waste Processing Facility (SWPF) and is responsible for leading and managing a group of professional technical resources comprised of engineers, subcontractors, technicians, and/or other professionals.  Manages resources to provide successful engineering deliverables in support of SRMC facilities, engineering programs, technologies, and customer support.

Manages a diverse group of Maintenance Engineering and Maintenance Specialists in their technical support of Plant Operations and Maintenance.
Manages the spare parts and obsolescence programs and interfaces with the Procurement organization to ensure that equipment is available to support facility needs.
Defines objectives, develops strategies, and manages resources to achieve goals based upon effective interaction with management/customers
Establishes and effectively communicates expectations to subordinates to ensure high engineering discipline standards and quality are maintained
Manages engineering commitments assigned to the group via schedules (e.g., POW, POD) and tracking systems (e.g., STAR, APS), utilizing the resources assigned, for on time delivery of the desired engineering product(s)
Teams seamlessly with peer engineering managers to support the larger business objectives or major engineering issue resolutions facing the organization or department
Provides leadership and direction to achieve long term improvements for the scope and function of the department
Provides guidance, direction and support to direct reports to resolve questions, issues, and other matters ranging from technical to personnel in nature
Active member of the SRMC expanded staff, available for developmental roles and support of senior management objectives
Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

BS in Engineering or Science (e.g., Physics, Chemistry) or closely related with engineering experience.

Post-secondary education may reduce the years of experience required for entry.
This position may fall under DOE Order 426.2 and as such must meet the conditions of the order.  On an exception basis, equivalencies for education and experience may be applied.

Savannah River Remediation LLC, a prime contractor for the US Department of Energy, is responsible for managing the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site’s Liquid Waste operations contract. Located in Aiken, South Carolina, SRR is a limited liability company formed by nuclear operations and environmental remediation global leaders Amentum, Bechtel, BWXT, and Jacobs. The SRR Team is responsible for the closure of waste tanks, the operation of the Savannah River Site’s Defense Waste Processing Facility, tank farm operations and associated production and disposal facilities.
