Job Description

This cloud network engineer provides technical and roadmap leadership in the network architecture design, planning, operation, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of GSK’s network infrastructure in the area of Cloud (GCP & Azure), SDA, LB, Networking tools, and automation. This person will help grow our cloud capabilities by strategizing, defining, architecting, and leading modern cloud solutions. Also this position will contribute as a technical resource and guide to reporting staff in completing their tasks, coordinates work flow and provides skill training in the technical processes, techniques, and tools we use.

Defines technical direction and roadmap for Cloud migrations and managing the implementation and technical solutions
Introduces industry relevant best practices & act as trusted advisor to executive team regarding enterprise value improvement opportunities
Develop and coordinate cloud architecture across diverse areas including application development, identity and access management, network and data management, and security
Design and Advise based on leading cloud practices and architectural approaches
Architect cloud-native, hybrid, or multi-cloud solutions to meet the internal team’s requirements
Guide operations team to set team goals, perform reviews, challenge team members, remove obstacles, determine technical direction, and lead initiatives
Extensive project experience migrating from legacy systems and deploying complex cloud-based solutions
Establishes metrics, key performance indicators and service level agreements for driving the performance of IT service delivery.
Identify and deliver successful process improvement opportunities within the global network by defining problems, identifying gaps in performance, gathering data, deciding on solutions, implementing improvements, measuring results, and ensuring changes are sustained.
Collaborate globally with other managers, directors, and key stakeholders to coordinate and align objectives and ensure technology meets the requirements of the enterprise
Develop plans to improve network request and incident ticket resolution time including maintaining SLAs and OLAs, with reliability and operational cost-effectiveness
Evaluate emerging technologies and create implementation strategies for inclusion in the wider network
Develops, Guide, Implements, Oversee, and Maintains Networking Standards, Designs, Policies, Procedures, and Environment Documentation

Why you?

Basic qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

Bachelor’s Degree
5+ years of overall network engineering experience with heavy emphasis on one or more Cloud Infrastructure providers (GCP/Azure) and Cisco networking equipment.
5+ years of networking experience - LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, TCP/IP Protocol suite, IP Addressing, Routing, LB, App gateway, DNS and VLAN.

Preferred qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

Master's Degree
Strong leadership skills and proven ability to communicate and collaborate with different audiences representing various technical disciplines across multiple job levels to achieve results
Extensive knowledge in Network Management, Security, MPLS traffic engineering design, configuration, and troubleshooting 
Ability to lead negotiations with vendors and network service providers
Working knowledge of predominant Wireless LAN technologies
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
Expert understanding of routing and switching protocols
Advanced knowledge of standard cloud and service provider network topologies
Solid understanding of load balancing technologies
