Dow has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Leader at their Beaumont Aniline Operations site located in Beaumont, TX.

About you:

The Operations Leader Shares responsibility and accountability for plant personnel, assets and achievement of the plant and site related business and corporate goals. Supervises daily activities of administrative, technical and operational employees. Also, provides oversight and direction to logistics contractor personnel. Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion. Acts as the primary back-up to the Site Leader. Has accountability for the performance and results of the team. As a leader, fosters a work environment with a high level of integrity and strong customer and safety focus that embraces inclusion and diversity, innovation and sustainability, continuous improvement and empowerment.

Responsibilities / Duties

Partners with the Site leader to drive a strong personal safety, process safety, and environmental improvement plan to achieve EH&S goals and ensure compliance with regulatory and permit requirements.

Supports Site Leader to provide motivation, explanation, context, and communication purpose of messages to the empowered organization.

Develops operation employees and ensures career success via goal-setting, performance management, promotion processes, and employee development plan.

Knows the business model and strategy for facility. Explains to operations how the plant fits into the business and corporation.

As primary back-up to the Site leader, serves as site landlord, Dow's Emergency Manager on-site and interacts with other site tenants/owners.

Provide leadership to Site Cost Management team.

Provides oversight and support for the logistics contract personnel on-site both in terms of daily activities as well as alignment/integration with Dow's larger logistics function.

Participates or leads teams in the area of responsibility.

Direct supervisory responsibility for 26 full-time Dow employees plus provides oversight for 7 full-time contract personnel.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering is required.

A minimum of 7-years of engineering, manufacturing, maintenance or related experience is required.

Essential functions of this position may require, among other things, that the employee use particular types of equipment -- such as on-site safety equipment that has specific weight limitations whereby the individual’s own weight, plus the weight of tools and other items and materials, must not exceed a certain threshold.  (For example, some types of safety equipment may be rated for a maximum weight limit of 300 pounds total.)  In the event a job offer for this position were (conditionally) extended and provides for a pre-employment medical examination, the individual will be appropriately evaluated in regard to their ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
