Job Description

BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY  

The Construction & Facilities Engineer provides design, implementation and management for moderately complex oil, gas, and water surface facilities and pipelines.  Works with a broad group of engineers, M&M and EHS staff. Works under minimal supervision.
 
EDUCATION  

Bachelor's degree in Engineering
 
EXPERIENCE  

Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience as facilities engineer and related experience in production, plant, pipeline and SWD facility design, construction, and operations
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop designs and drawings for area specific production facilities to assure compliance with government regulations (local, state/province, federal, etc.) and maximum flow efficiency and hydrocarbon recovery
• Evaluate water treatment facilities and design as needed for existing and future water management needs
• Design compression facilities for outside entities on a smaller scale when needed
• Communicate best practices on facilities throughout the division and company
• Troubleshoot mechanical failure of production equipment
• Work in conjunction with safety, environmental and field operations personnel to optimize well site safety and environmental performance
• Evaluate electrical system needs of production and saltwater disposal facilities  
• Work with power provider and operations staff on small and large field system development
• Use PVT analysis to model recombined hydrocarbon systems for air emissions at various temperatures and pressures using commercial software such as HYSIS
• Design and develop detailed cost estimates and construction timing for SWD facilities.  Serve as the project manager on construction of the facilities while working in conjunction with Devon field staff
• Model and design field wide water gathering and distribution systems to maximize water reuse in developing fields
• Design central gathering facilities and production units for multiple wells where applicable which will reduce the environmental footprint and improve operating efficiencies
• In conjunction with EHS, evaluate, design, and modify controls to abate air emissions and maximize hydrocarbon recoveries with improved efficiencies
• Assist EHS with air dispersant modeling using commercial software programs
• Evaluate proper metallurgy, chemical treatments, and cathodic protection to protect surface facilities for use in various pressure, temperatures and corrosive environments
• Possess the right and obligation to stop work if an unsafe condition exists
 
OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Oil and gas industry experience preferred
• Practice safe work habits at all times

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Creative individual, capable of analyzing and solving problems. 
• Able to work independently
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively work within a multi-disciplinary team to achieve project related goals
• Efficient time management and the ability to concurrently handle multiple projects 
• Intermediate Level computer skills
